Parents give me false hope of getting a girlfriend?

My Parents say I will find a girlfriend, but i dont think it will ever happen.

My parents say I could find a girlfriend at church, or a job. I feel like they are lying to me. I think im average looking, but i dont think I am attractive enough to get a girlfriend.

We're all saying the same thing and it all sounds non-helpful, but we mean it truthfully when we say you are young and you'll be surprised what can happen in a few years. But you have to help your own situation. Our life does not fall in our laps, you gotta build it by being out there in whatever means that inspires you and how much you push yourself past your comfort zone.

Deep down your know your goals and you know how to get to them. If you find yourself not attractive enough, then make the tough decision to discipline yourself and get in better shape. You'd be surprised what a few pounds off or muscle tone can do for a body and face.

And your parents do have a point, most relationships come from the communities you are in, church, job, school, favourite game/discord/twitch chat, it can come from anywhere. My first girlfriend was from Twitch actually (JTV).

Per many, many studies, the average age gap for a marriage is between 2-4 years, with the man being older. (Age gap varies by culture.) What this means is that your future wife is statistically likely to be between 15 and 17 right now.

If she's 15, not only is she not looking for the one she'll settle down with for the rest of her life, she would consider dating a 19 year old gross (and in some countries, illegal).

Wait until you're 22 to 25, dating someone between 20 and 23, and you'll start seeing those girls being ready to find someone stable to date and marry. In the meantime, focus on building up your own value: finish your education, start a career, pay off your debts, develop a respectable hobby (music, art, sports). If you do those things, by the time you're 25 you'll be prime boyfriend material.

I don't think it's false hope. No one can predict the future, but there is a very good chance you'll get a girlfriend.

You are still young with lots of time. It might seem like everyone else has had girlfriends, but they haven't. It's very common at your age. You are a lot closer to normal than you think.

Give it time. Get out there where you have a chance to meet people. The more people you meet, the better.

Jokes aside. You don't have to be Brad Pitt to get a girlfriend. You DO have to have more self-confidence than that though, because I've never met a (healthy) woman who was like "I really like guys that seemed whipped by life." You're 19. You can't get one on your phone. You have to actually interact with women so one can get to know and like you. Where have you tried that so far?
