What are your thoughts on hypergamy? Do women really have much higher standards when picking a male partner while men are willing to "settle"?

Is this idea substantiated by solid evidence? And if it is true, should men start raising their standards and expectations in a female partner in order to create a balance?

yes women do objectively have higher standards than men, so much so they can't even reach these standards themselves

women rate 80% of men as unattractive. men rate women more fairly

most men are also biologically hardwired to find most women attractive whereas most women are only biological hardwired to find the most attractive men as attractive thus they tend to be pickier and more shallow than men

there's the fact that humanity has far more female ancestors than male ancestors. this meant that some men didn't reproduce and therefore didn't have sex because there was no birth control back then to prevent pregnancies. unattractive men couldn't have sex and therefore their genes were weeded out of the gene pool

there's also the fact that men can impregnate multiple women at the same time whereas women can only get impregnated only by one man. male sperm is constantly regenerating whereas female eggs are constantly depleting thus female eggs are more valuable than expendable male sperm

when a woman gets pregnant, she's extremely vulnerable to a lot of danger and she needs to ensure her man is capable of protecting and providing for her during these stages and have the means to sustain offspring too hence she needs to make sure she chooses the "right" man even if she doesn't want kids. the "right" man would therefore need to have amazing genetics and plenty of resources to produce healthy offspring

men do not suffer from this phenomenon and can therefore be free to fuck as many women as he can and it doesn't matter whom his DNA goes to thus he can afford to be less picky and have lower standards for his women

if men however were as picky as women, humanity would've gone extinct a long time ago but thanks to feminism and the sexual revolution, undesirable women are being rewarded by the best efforts of a man whom receives little to nothing in return.

to some degree, men do need to start raising their standards for women and stop rewarding bad women but the problem becomes that some men won't get anything as a result considering the billions of men around the world and some would have to settle for less or risk having his lineage die out.

it's a double-edge sword that would only result in western culture becoming increasingly more degenerate due to desperate men and undesirable women. an equal balance is never going to be achieved unless both parties return back to traditionalism but that's impossible because you can't turn a hoe into a housewife
