We've been together for 4 years now. During our time together, I used to play some pranks on her. One of them nearly cost a break-up. She was super upset. I promised to never joke about that specific prank (I also said that next time it would be for real) but would play other pranks.
Forward to just recently yesterday:
It was the one single time it was real and I wasn't joking at all. It took several moments and her reconfirming it with my sister (whom she's close friends with) to verify it. Wow. If it weren't real, she would've ended things right there and walk away for good.
It does feels awful when it's real and you're not believed. I quit with the pranks forever. Is this an example of the boy who cried wolf?

It was my proposal. I've already spoken with her sister and parents in advance about the surprise any time during the week. I pranked about that in the past too, regretted it and it nearly cost me a break-up.

Let her sister drop the bomb that your going to soon! So she expects it and won't think it is fake!
Well she did said yes after that long standby time of her not believing me and reconfirming it. And I thought she forgave and forgot that terrible prank I've apologized for at the time. I did followed my words that next time it would be real.
She won't ever forget! Maybe forgive but never forget and she will tell her friends about how you pretended to do it then latter did it...
She will tell your kids about it too!
