Being with one person and being happy. What a concept! Do you think you could do it, or are you too flighty and undecided about love, or spending your life with just one person?

So yes, I like my wife, enjoy being with her. she's fun and adventurous, and makes difficult things easy, lowers stress. As I like my wife, I love my wife. That means I make daily and moment to moment choices to express love, think about how to love, and care for her needs, talk, plan, etc. It's effort and work, but it's good.

Happy though is a choice being made. It's certainly easier to be happy when there is low friction and stress, but I know people that are not happy even alone.

I had heard when I was a child marriage was "work". I had no idea what that meant, it sounded bad. It's really not bad. Working out... is work... it takes effort. You get good results from putting in effort... or should... in time.

Just don't let a 200lb dumb bell land on ya...

p. s. the other thing is to honor the other person... that means, to protect them emotionally. I know guys that made these mistakes (thinking of others not myself and I've made my share of errors). Doing harm to the other does not make sense. how gonna be happy then? The one guy I met paid a heavy price for his sin... there's some verse about " a woman scorned".

Seems that you might have an antisocial personality disorder, or maybe just plain shy. Not everyone can communicate with the opposite sex with clever and interesting talk. Some people are just socially crippled. Even when they gain someone's interest they can not maintain it. This kind of person can be easy to take advantage of, especially girls who are constantly being used by "bad boys".

I think I already am happy with my girlfriend. I mean we've been together for over 5.5 years and have almost lived together for a year. That's the only reason I haven't proposed yet. I don't propose until we've lived together for a year and we've been dating for at least 3.
