For me, being a bottle blonde is a red flag. This is a super petty thing to make a red flag and I’m positive it’s not universal, but it is for me. There’s a very specific need for control that goes into dying one’s hair any color. If they just stop at the bleaching process, that tells me all I need to know

Like I said, it’s a petty thing that I personally take as a red flag. In my personal opinion if you look at the veritable rainbow of hair dye colors and choose to stop at the bleaching process, it means — to ME, and probably no one else — that you uphold specific beauty standards above self-validation, and often if they’re parents they’re super controlling of their children, struggling to see them as people of their own

I'd say so and not always for reasons you have any control over. For example someone who shouldn't have had any red flags for me had a red flag because her username aligned with a username of someone different who had enough in common with her to trigger suspicion. The red flag was of course removed once I had confirmation those were not the same person.

Ultimately, red flags are a protection measure, but you shouldn't jump the gun on them. They can often be explained or temporary.
