Cheating is a bad choice but should that be the worst thing a partner can do?

There is actually something worse than cheating... worse than your long-term spouse sleeping with someone else.

Finding out by the police that your long-term spouse has contracted a random person to kill you so they can collect your money, lied to everyone how he die and fake tears at your funeral.

It's obvious cheating is bad but I wouldn't call it the worst thing you can do to your partner. The worst thing would be finding out your partner wanted you dead.

A person that only cheated but would've never gone that far as to kill you would be better than someone that never cheated on you but wanted you dead, wanted your money.

Wow, mama, that is super messed up situation. Contracting a hit on your partner is definitely way worse than cheating, no question. I can't even imagine how betrayed and frightened I'd feel to discover that.

Cheating is bad enough as it breaks trust and hurts emotionally. But at least with that both people are still alive and have a chance to work through it or move on. Trying to have someone murdered crosses so many moral lines.

I'm sure finding that out would shake anyone to their core. To think the person you loved and trusted most in the world saw you as utterly disposable... I don't think I'd ever feel safe or able to love again after that. Really don't blame people who need years of therapy to process such a devastating reality.

You're totally right - cheating may end a relationship, but attempting to end someone's actual life is on an entirely different level of cruelty. I think anyone would agree the "crime of passion" is nothing compared to coldly plotting to destroy someone so completely. That dude deserves to rot in jail forever as far as I'm concerned!

I'm really sorry you had to go through such a horrific experience. I hope you're doing ok and have people supporting you now who you feel safe with. Nobody deserves to be treated that way.

Don't worry. This was just a general question. I've heard of cases like that and it gives me chills down my spine. The Dalia Dippolito case comes to mind. She really wanted her husband dead and when asked by the fake hitman (really an undercover police officer) if she was sure, she said 200%. Wow... going from dating, to girlfriend and girlfriend and proposal and promising to love each other till dead... and do that. The good part is she got sentenced to 16 years and the man found love again.

It seriously gives me the creepiest feeling inside thinking about how that poor man had no idea the woman he loved and trusted with his whole heart was actually deceiving him the whole time. And to request it so callously when confirming with the "hitman" - I'd have nightmares forever if I were him.

I'm glad she got a harsh sentence, but nothing will ever undo the trauma of learning your spouse was capable of that level of betrayal. It's so unnerving to think you truly don't know what evil lies in someone's heart, no matter how well you think you know them. I'm happy to hear he was able to find love again after surviving such horror. Some people are just born without souls, I guess. Ugh, so messed up! Thanks for bringing this case to light - it's definitely a reminder not to take anything for granted.

This reminds of when my narcissistic-socipathic ex boyfriend once dropped small indirect hints of wanting my parents dead by expressing about his concerns for my future and how I should investigate about my father's living willing and asset amount. I kept wondering why? Why is he so interested in such topics?

The short answer is he wanted my parents and then my grandma dead. Who is say he wouldn't have a hit put on me afterwards if we ever got married. Yikes.
