People have changed the way they view relationships, is there still hope?

I see a lot of people opting for the 'single' life for both men and women. Clearly there is a great drift between men and women and the wants of each.

I fall more on the traditional side, not completely but for the most part I am conservative in my beliefs when it comes to family and marriage, but I am starting to see why the splitting is happening and the traditional " family, marriage etc" circle is starting to shrink and women like me who want those things are less likely going to get that.

Are we just to demanding in the things we want and expect from one another that we just dont bother trying? Is staying faithful to 1 person just too hard?

The bottom line is that women have made sex too cheap and marriage too expensive and risky for men. I'll explain.

Marriage for men today is a very different thing than it was for our fathers and grandfathers. Half of marriages end in divorce, women file 80% of them and men typically get screwed in divorce court and child custody settlements. Put yourself in a man's shoes and ask yourself if that is an appealing proposition.

And divorce aside, even a stable marriage today is much less appealing to a man than it was decades ago. Back then, a man would work hard all day and look forward to coming home to a home cooked meal and a relaxing evening with his family in a home that has been well cared for during the day while he was at work. Today's husbands/fathers come home to a wife who has also had a stressful day at work and a home where all the chores still need to be done. He'll probably have stop on the way home from work to pick up the kids from daycare while his wife stops at Pizza Hut to pick up dinner. And instead of a relaxing evening, he'll be working on chores. Weekends are spent doing all the chores that in the past would have been done during the week while he was working. That's what marriage looks like today for good men.

Add to that the fact that sex is easily available without commitment, unlike in the past when a man would have typically had to get married first. Sex was one of the rewards for a man for getting married. It was a carrot, so to speak. That carrot is no longer a factor.

So yes, relationships have changed, and not for the better, for either sex. Women have shot themselves (and men) in the foot.

I'm not going to sit here and say ahhh fkk all women. But I don't want anything at all to do with em in the USA. My last date was in Mexico, I go to Mexico every other month to give good to families there and spend time. I'll GLADLY spoil a female in Mexico, and marriage may very well be on the horizon... but only there. I'm moving there. It'd be easy for me to sit here and go on the whole all women suck trope... but the truth is, the USA is absolutely done. Corporations and politicians HAVE WON. EASILY. Americans are HELPLESS against propaganda, and they've shown that clearly since the 90's. They bum rush to swallow it up faster than flies on a fresh turd. Their society is self destructive, paranoid, distrustful, and they value ALL the wrong things-which is why the rest of the world isn't in a rush to need their advice anymore on how to be "free." If I wanted advice on how to be a drug addict, wannabe gangster, middle aged married preacher playing with teenage girls, bully, virtue signaling asshole from a bistro or how to have a dysfunctional family and become a career pill popper-then I'll ask their advice. The kind of advice productive people with morals may need, they can't provide. So it's not about women, it's about culture... and the women in the USA are half of that.

For sure just from experience, I’ve became a lot more selective then I used to be because I’ve seen the best in people when I was younger and I still can find the light in at least most people, but I can also find the shadows of thier heart.

If someone chooses to be single that’s fine I don’t really care as long as they don’t just hate the opposite sex for how they’re born.

I don’t see most traditional relationships work out because they’re very one sided most people want the things that benefit themselves but not the other way around. If done right if be a amazing marriage but many times it doesn't end well so you have to be careful.

Many women have this fantasy inside of their head on what being a “trad wife” really is. Because most of these women is dropped in the 1800s would probably work harder then any full time job there is now. See it’s a 50/50 relationship the difference is that both people work equally hard in separate roles.

They just think that oh I’ll get to stay home and focus on what I want to focus on, I’ll not have to work, I can go shopping and buy expensive shit because my husband makes a lot, my husband just is working his ass off while I get my hair and nails done. I just have to do some cooking and cleaning.

When they get married and are see how hard being a full time mom is on top of house chores and cleaning and laundry and dishwashing and going to the store and mowing the lawn and cleaning the pool. It’s not like she can just go sit and relax by the pool all day reading a book.

Then they become bitter and resentful and act like such a victim abour how hard their life is. How much easier it would be just to go back to work but they never do it.

Many of these relationships have a lot of cheating the woman is cheating it’s sad I’ve heard stories where these women brought men around when their kids were there. Basically told the kids don’t tell daddy about him…. That’s disgusting.

Cheating is wrong period not excusing it. But many of these men thought they wanted a traditional wife but they work a 16 hour day to come home to a nagging wife honey do this honey do that. They really don’t get anything even peace and quiet while they are putting a roof over her head and giving her money to blow like no tomorrow.

If the man takes time to be with her and the kids. He needs to work and make money. While at the same time working 70 hours a week she complains he’s not home enough and even excuses cheating because of it.

Not all women or men are like this. But I hear someone wanting to be a trad wife all I can hear is oh fuck…. Especially women who do this to military men that disgusts me. Most of them divorce soon as he gets out of the military.

All he did was come home on deployments so she could sit on her lazy ass while he remodeled the house and shit. Just for her yo try to take everything she never worked for. It’s funny because sometimes these women just end up homeless and then Wahhh poor me I thought I was gonna get all his shit. Now I’m on the street and be won’t help me

I'm with you on traditional. Most everyone around me thinks that way, although the younger generation is being thrown all sorts of crazy ideas... it's up to parents to guide them away from such problems.

It may be an environmental issue. If you see that around you, then leave. Spend time building what you believe in.

You should be able to find what you want.

I didn't say it's easy, it should be easier, it really sucks to be so difficult, but if it wasn't, maybe you each wouldn't value the other enough to get through harder times.

The real problem is your girlfriends corrupting guys. So spend some time "whacking" your girlfriends... keeping them in line.

Men have been abused by women and the courts for generations and the supposed "good" women did nothing. Women that now claim to be traditional really only mean they want to be lazy and have a man support them, while she contributes very little to the relationship.

If she isn't a virgin waiting until marriage, no tattoos, no unnatural hair colors, no past drug use, and doesn't take care of everything at home, she isn't traditional, so she shouldn't expect the traditional things from a man such as supporting her, protecting her, marriage, etc.

That is one of the main problems. Women want a man that is FAR more valuable than her in the relationship.

No one thinking logically wants kids so that's a big part of it.
And I do think humans get somewhat more logical every era though it's always trading off something else.
Marriage is also logically unfavorable to guys in this Era so yeah less of that.

Monogamy however is still a logical thing at least for now so I don't see how that's changed a lot. Pretty sure most people are still viewing monogamy as a good thing.
But without Kids or Marriage a person more emotional might think to that what is even the point?

While we tend to be a product of our environment, we can still wake up from it and think for ourselves if we really want to.

As such I formed my relationship perspective.

Looking for a long term girlfriend ultimately.

Hook ups and one night stands? meh, i'll do these because I have needs but it's not exactly what I'm looking for in the long run.

Being single forever is the default and I came to terms with it a very long time ago.

It's because women want to have their cake and eat it too. Nowadays women feel entitled to have promiscuous sex in their 20s and then expect to be loved and given title of "wife material" after all that when she's become, for lack of a better term, old and used up by other men. For most relationship type men, it's a hard no. Things men value in a woman are her youthfulness, exclusivity, purity and fertility. All that is diminished by then. No decent guy wants a woman that's been had by other guys and no guys want a woman who's already given everything else to other men. Nowadays, a lot of guys won't even do relationships because most of these women, sex is all they're good for.

Conversely, the dating pool of men has been shrinking for a variety of reasons such as addiction, No college or career, joblessness, lack of compatibility and even the now accepted being gay instead of just hiding behind a woman.

Men and women today are increasingly incompatible due to different life projectories. Women go to college, men go to jail.

No, it is not hard staying faithful to one person, and the drift between genders really isn't that big unless your main exposure to the the opposite gender and relationships is online rather than real life. But most traditional people are married by 25, so the pool size for someone traditional of your age is pretty small now. You'll either have to work hard at advertising if you want to get married, or come to terms with the possibility that you've missed your chance.

Not to me. It's not that I don't want a loving relationship. But I know virtually any woman I meet and am attracted to me. Will consider me a second choice or a fallback option with my greatest attribute to her in me being my financial assets. Why would I even want to try at that point?
