I know there are many people out there that do this type of thing regardless of gender but I'm curious what some of the stories might be on here.

I bring this question up because there is a guy who likes me at my gym who is 34 and still lives with his parents and I kind of like him too but I get this feeling that he would only try to get with me just to get out of his situation or take advantage.

If a 34 year old guy is relying on a 23 year old woman for financial support that’s beyond pathetic. Only exception would be if they were married for some time and he got hurt at his job or something.

I will reserve judgment on why he’s living with his parents. Sometimes major life events happen and it’s a temporary situation. I briefly lived at home at 34 (to save on rent) while I was looking for a house to buy. I was no bum. I did it help save money for a down payment on my mortgage and it was only for 7 months.

But from what you described above there is a high chance he’s a bum. Especially if he’s looking for someone to “save him”

I once had a former girlfriend offer me money when I was in a tight spot years ago. She was 7 years younger. This is the only time in my entire life I had a woman offer that. Ever.

I don't think he's gonna be in it to take advantage. Our current housing market is a diaster in most western countries so he may not have the means to life by himself solo. But that doesn't mean he's not interested in you for the right reasons. In my case it would be financial suicide if I bought a house right now since i'd be paying over half a million euro's for a house that in a healthy market is only worth half of that. If I met a girl it wouldn't be for housing reasons, it would be because i love her.

Maybe he's helping them out with their bills, maybe one of them is disabled and needs help. Maybe he's saving up to buy a house. Maybe he's a bum. Ask him why he lives with his parents before passing judgement on him. If you don't let him move into your place then there's no problem. If he has a job and can pay his own bills then it doesn't matter. You're trying to look too far into the future, you're putting too much mustard on the hot dog. He may not even want to move in with you in the near future. If the guy had his own place and a good job, you would still be a damned fool to let him move into your place in the near future.

In Southern California where I live women routinely do this because living here is very expensive and they are unable or unwilling to work to pay their own bills. I've had women try to pull this on me multiple times and of course it's completely transparent and it never works. A lot of women here see relationships as a financial transaction.
