I almost made that mistake after being dumped by my ex. You probably comforted him after the break up and in his desperate state right after a break up he tries for the next girl he sees. That girl happened to be you and that kind of sucks, but what can you do about it? Well, you could tell him that you feel like you are just a rebound and see what he has to say about it. If he is your best friend he will talk to you about it and hopefully tell you the truth. Make sure he knows you don't want to be the rebound and that he needs to be straight forward with you from now on. Good luck.
