Me and my current boyfriend knew each other in high school when we were 15/16 but we were just friends. We both left and didn't run into one another until 6 years later and both confessed that we had secret crushes on each other. We have been together now for a couple of months. He is really good at giving me advice, making me feel good about myself, we see each other if not everyday then the next. We talk to each other everyday almost like we truly are best friends. He always calls me to say goodnight and helps me out in anyway that he can. He told me he loved me first as well. But anyways ..Before we reunited though, he told me (and his mom) that he wasn't really doing anything. Not working and just getting stoned. But when we got together he quit. Cold turkey. I am really proud of him for that. BUT sometimes he acts like an 8 year old or really immature. Embarrassing me in public. For example when we go in stores he will act like a kid in a candy store and everything looks amazing to him, he got excited too see pillow pets. He also acts childish around his family and is obsessed with videogames. I have told him about this we have talked about it. I hope I have enough patience but I don't understand. He should be a man and not a little kid. Maybe its just a matter of time. What should I do ? How can I help with out getting upset ? I'm also trying to really trust him, he told me he cheated on his ex which was a couple of years ago. But he told me that was the past and people can change and I believe that. He even quit hanging out with his other "girl" friends for me because he knows I wouldn't like that. He really is a GOOD boyfriend but how can I deal with these issues ? Any help/advice is appreciated. Thanks
Some man never really grow up. My hubby is going to be 40 soon. Not enough space to count how childish he is. If you think you can accept him as is long term then go for it. If it bothers you that much now. It will be worse.
