He broke up with me because he said his feelings for me faded, what do I do now?

I met this guy online and we were dating for almost 6 months, so yeah, we were basically in a LDR. He started to be more busy (school, work) and I decided to give him his space. Last weekend, he told me his feelings for me faded. I don't understand. He says it's because we have no physical affection. I know that LDR's are hard because of this, but your feelings don't fade just because you can't show them.

He says he loves me, but he isn't in love with me anymore, that he wants to stay as friends until we meet and see if this works. But I can't keep my feelings for a year if I'm not committed to him, they'll eventually going to fade as well, so..

Should I:

1) Try to make him "fall in love" with me again, and going back of how we used to be.

2) Wait a year until we finally meet to see if I still have feelings and to see if it's going to work.

3) Move on, stay as friends.

I went through a similar situation with my ex boyfriend. We also met online but we were not LDR. Only LDR when he was away at school. But before and after we hung out all the time.

Sometimes love does fade, and your feelings do go away. It's hard, but you just have to accept it. You can't make someone love you and I know you would probably like to. But sometimes you just have to let them go. It's probably better for you to find someone who you can actually see and meet up with on a regular basis.

It's hard to know exactly why his feelings faded. But I do agree, just because it wasn't a physical relationship doesn't mean he can't have good feelings for you. I think maybe he either got bored or realized he wanted a relationship that wasn't long distance. That is what I am thinking.

I think you should just move on. The first one will only cause you more pain because you will be trying so hard to make him love you again, what if it doesn't work? The second, you will have to basically put your love life on hold for a guy who might not even want to be with you. Or upon meeting him, you may not want to be with him! So option 3 is probably best. There are tons of guys out there, meet one who is going to want to be with you.

You obviously really care about this guy, and I know there are plenty of single guys out there who would love to have a girlfriend who puts that much care into a relationship. Find someone who will commit to you :)

It is hard to fall for a person only on the internet.. so I guess he is being very responsible about it. I suggest you both live your lives and all , but if your feelings will not match his in this whole year , then you ll most probably feel bad even after you get together..you know , the feeling that you have loved him more than he did .. So , try to go over him as a "lover" .. if you can, then you are on the safe side, and might as well start over things when you meet again .. but if you will feel bad most of the time , while he seems to be all right with it , then I suggest trying to forget him :) .. I know it will affect you on the long run .. not right after.

Im about to deal with the same situation my girlfriend from college is about to move back home which is about 2 hours from me. I'm scared the same thing is going to happen between the two of us.. yes it only 2 hours but factor in the gas and etc... but I think you should move on if the feelings on his end are starting to fade than its a good chance they won't come back no matter what you do, but I wouldn't put my life on hold for a year because you don't know who you will meet in that time frame, I could see where he is coming from when you not physically around then your mind and eyes start to wonder else where, Yes texting and Skype may help but dose things can't replace a good hug and kiss, However if you love someone you go the extra mile if you get my drift but I hope you make the right decision and things will workout

First, you can't make anyone fall in love with you. Second, it sounds like he's more chasing the feeling of puppy love. He went into that intoxicated state and road on it. When those hormones wore off he said his feelings for you have faded, and now he's chasing his next high. <-- That's not love... Move on and live your life. If you two happen to be single in a year and want to give it another try, that's up to you...
