What I believe the kingdom of God is

I was at church one day and the pastor asked us what we thought the kingdom of God was.

Around 9 different people responded and each one gave a different answer.

I’ve also had varying responses to this idea during the 20 years I’ve been a Christian.

To me the kingdom of God represents the rules of God, the rule of God, the rule of godliness, and the ruler ship of God.

It isn’t necessarily humanitarian service since janitors and factory workers would be excluded if it was.

Neither is it the hierarchal system of the moral elitists ruling over morally problematic because Jesus said your status is determined by your humility and not your moral position.

Neither is it a hierarchy of piety or sacrifice because the bible says that suffering can be greatly reduced through obedience to God.

And the kingdom of God is more than just worship because Jesus said morality is more important than religious ritual.

The kingdom of God is also not an epistemological or ecclesiastical characterization because Jesus said the kingdom is within you.

To follow the rulership of God is to follow the ethical system of fairness and the perceptual framework of grace or compassion and the doctrinal impulse of personal excellence and self improving pursuit and ambition.

To me that is what the kingdom of God is all about.
