Ironic. Other people and I know far more Christians and Catholics that are not religious that are better people than the religious ones. The religious ones most of the time judge too much and act like they are better people. Yet many of them mainpulate (lie) to people about the reason they want money from them and so many other things. But oh dang they go all crazy when someone lusts, etc. They dont check the spec in their own eye first most of the time. No one is perfect but most religous Christians and Catholics act like they are.
567 opinions shared on Religion & Spirituality topic. Oh yes and oh how EXTREMELY IRONIC! One who is to stay I know it all, doesn't want to look into the truth and one who says I'm am idiot, stupid, not knowledgeable, etc... are the ones who want and have the urge to look into the truth, to have eyes to see with and ears to hear, for I'm a flawed person and I want to only know what the truth is, so let's pray to not be arrogant and think we know it all because we call ourselves Christians of some kind of denomination.
John 9:40-41
And some of the Pharisees which were with him heard these words, and said unto him, Are we blind also? Jesus said unto them, If ye were blind, ye should have no sin: but now ye say, We see; therefore your sin remaineth.

+1 yI find it troubling when someone has to tell you how good a Christian they are, to make sure you know it, many times its the only way you'd have a clue. They don't actually practice christianity it in their everyday life, in the dealings, thoughts, and interactions with people they deal with. A true Christian doesn't have to tell you that they are, they show it in how they act and treat everyone they have contact with. You know them as such by the way they interact and talk to you. A good Christian is self apparent and need no proclamation to inform you as such. Do they really think telling you instead of showing you will make you believe better of them?

+1 yThere are a lot of christians that give the religion a bad name by being judgy hypocrites, the institution that supports them isn’t much better.
But my roommate is trying to change the system, she’s becoming a pastor to start an inclusive, welcoming church for anyone who’s disabled or queer. She’s awesome as a person. So every now and then you can pick up a piece of gold in the turd pile of christians lol02 Reply- +1 y
See a lot of people say Christians are judgmental or think they are better. I am sure some are but not all of them.
The thing is these people that say we point fingers or judge are wrong. There is a difference in judging people and telling people what they are doing is wrong. Just because someone points out your sins or flaws doesn't mean they are judgmental or better. They are just pointing out or bring to light the things you are doing that are wrong. The fact that people get upset when their wrongdoings are brought to light shows you that they know what they are doing is wrong and instead of admitting what they are doing is wrong.
They try to focus on the people that brought attention to their sins and say your not perfect either. We know we aren't , just because we are telling you that what your doing is wrong doesn't mean we are judgmental or judging you. - +1 y
Even if you say that’s not the case, it doesn’t exactly convince me to convert if all you tell me is “you know, that thing you like is sinful in the eyes of god” all the time

@sean1234 The Bible wasn't "outlawed"! Where did you get that stupid idea from? Prior to the development of printing, and even for some time after that, owning a book - ANY book - was a luxury, something only the rich could afford. The vast majority of people were illiterate, like 98%, so what would have been the point in "outlawing the Bible"?

You don't know history, lady. 1st off, it started with the John Wycliffe bible in the 1300s because no one had anything to read, except for the lying catholic popes, cardinals, priests..., then the Geneva much later because it was more accurate, then the KJV because it was more accurate.
What does it mean to you when back then, one has to learn Latin just to read a Bible? The contents of the bible were soo top secret to the catholic church, they only had Latin bibles for anyone to read and that was of course reserved for the preachers to interpret however they saw fit.
It's one of the reasons why the catholic church is and has always been known as the beast and to hold onto their traditions you have the mark of the beast 666. The mediator "Mary" which is blasphemy, the bible says Jesus is the mediator, another big one is the sabbath. The Catholic church as the bible says will change times and laws. They deleted the 2nd commandment, to not worship idols, then split the 10th commandment in half. Then there's the Sabbath day, the bible says to not forget, yet in the 4th century, the catholic church changed the solemnity of the sabbath from Saturday the 7th day to the 1st day Sunday to show their authority above God.

Religious folk consistently demonstrate moral superiority, drawing on fixed moral principles rather than the variable morals of secular life. Atheists are guided by societal and cultural norms. When religious individuals engage in wrongdoings but follow the Bible, they acknowledge their mistakes and try to make amends. They also usually have a community that points out their errors for their spiritual benefit. Conversely, atheists may judge others without a supportive group to challenge their actions. I’ll trust a Christian over an atheist any day of the week.

Anonymous(45 Plus)+1 yNo. But I might have felt that way before becoming a Christian. Even as a Christian now it still rubs me the wrong way when a fellow Christian suggests someone isn't going to heaven because they haven't accepted Christ yet.
I think you need to remember that Christians are people, same as you. The only difference is they have faith that you have not yet accepted. And they do not know what happens when they die any more than you do. They simply trust God's word is good. Sometimes in thier zeal (especially new Christians), lose sight of this fact.

Opinion Owner+1 yYeah. He forgot just because he's been saved that it's not his job to judge, only assist. I'm just saying be the bigger man and forgive his zeal. Because as I said. He is no more special than you. None of us are worthy of God's grace. That is God's gift to us.

How ironic you are ok with him lying (manipulating me and said the reason he wants me to move in with him cause he misses me but actually mostly wanted my money) and manipulation is a sin yet only have a problem with my sins with lust, etc. I bet you manipulate people or have and dont regret it.
- +1 y
And ironic you think he is saved when he doesn't regret trying to manipulate me. I regret my sins of lust and try to stop but he doesn't have regrets of what he tried to do to me.

- +1 y
You chery pick sins. You are ok with someone always lying and thinking they are saved cause of it yet not thinking people who lust are. The irony.
- +1 y
You always cherry picked sins. Not so Christian of you.
+1 yNo absolutely not. We don't think we are better than you. We know we are not better than you. We are just as bad if not worse than you.
The difference is we know we are just as bad if not worse and we accept the fact that we need a savior because we know how bad we are.
Where is you are worried about comparing who's bad and how bad they are. The thing is every person who ever lived is bad, not one person is good.
It doesn't matter if you do 1000000 good things and 1 bad things you are still classified as bad.
00 ReplyI'd hope they think that, because they'd be right. Finding truth is the goal... As Jesus stated, "I am the way, the truth and the life..." So at least Christians have that have that on you. Most of them probably wouldn't rub it in though.

So while yes they may act benevolent these days, it's just an act. None are caught out more than Christians with their hypocrisy and duplicity.

@nawtee_me oh no no no, thats most certainly NOT all! Jesus said if you love me, keep my commandments. Without the law, there is only the devil, Satan.
- +1 y
Christians are not judging you for practicing your religion they are trying to convert you because they don't want you to go to hell or be lost to Satan. After all both religions can't be right only one will be right in the end.

The definition of religion is believing in a God, someone who is not religious would be an atheist. Being Christian or Catholic is just what specific religion you follow.
So yeah saying someone is non religious Christian is idiotic.
I was raised Anglican/Church of England and I don't think I'm better or worse than other people.

Feel free. Just know that I'm a Catholic. I've seen who knows how many news reports of clerical sex abuse. I've seen Pope Francis sell out faithful Catholics in China to the CCP, march pagan idols through the Vatican, reinstate a sexual predator as a key advisor, and promote a bishop who stonewalled a police investigation into a sexually abusive priest who doubled as a certified Satanist (ritually abused his victim). I've seen and heard plenty of other things over the years from the pope and various priests and bishops that most other people would shrug at, but are nevertheless incredibly scandalous to faithful Catholics.
That said, whatever your ex-friend did, vile, horrible, and despicable though it may be, I can assure you that there's a good chance I won't be shocked. I don't mean to minimize what this person did, especially if it was harmful to you. I simply want to put things in context.

My ex Christian friend moved in 2016 to Florida from Cali. We were friends from 2009. He responded back fine when he moved but all of a sudden a couple of months in he started taking days to weeks to months to respond and he started hardly hitting me up first as well unless he needed something. I always brought it up to him, him taking forever to respond since he started and he always made ridiculous excuses. Than he wanted me to move with him and his wife to Ohio from Florida. I said no. He made time all of sudden to respond back fine before I said no than he went back to the same stuff. He obviously only or mainly wanted me to move in with him for rent money by how he treated me for so long. So than he hit me up first wanting me to help out his mom. My dumbass said yes despite her always treating me like shit. And despite him treating me like shit since 2016 or 2017. She treated me like shit when I helped her. I stopped helping her. He than went back to the same games of taking forever to respond. Last year July he responded 4 months later to a text. I confronted him about it and he said"I admit since I started taking forever to respond I should have not done that but you are a whore monger (he obviously was referring to me always going to strip clubs and me hooking up with chicks for one night stands) and adulterer (he mentioned that because I always told him to look at other womens asses when he was in a relationship with his girlfriend before meeting her in person and also continued that when he moved but I stopped, I never told him to cheat)." He than said" I think it is time we stop being friends, you judged me since I moved." He said I always been a bad Catholic snd bsd person for doing those things about what I listed and he obviously thinks became a better Christian when he moved. But ironically he

attempted to manipulate me (lie, trick, etc) to get me to move in with him and said the main reason is because he misses hanging out, which is obviously always bull. Manipulation is a sin yet he is throwing my sins in my face. He thinks he is a better Christian and person when most people have always sinned and he is not s better person for what he tried to do with me.
