I mean, for kids born in the 90's or later, I just feel like everything they know is like a watered down version of the good stuff that happened before they were old enough to know it.
I mean, take celebrities as an example, 80's kids grew up with Eminem and Green Day and old enough to remember a little bit of Michael Jackson and Madonna in their prime, musicians who were the real deal, people who shifted a culture.
But 90's kids? They grew up with Justin Bieber and Taylor Swift, I mean...come on.
And what about movie stars? George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Leonardo DiCaprio, Johnny Depp, Will Smith, they all made their name in the 90's and they are STILL the only real A-Lister in Hollywood these days, and I cannot name a single young actor who made it to the top during the 2000's.
And if you watch football, and I mean football, not American football, there used to so many stars in so many teams, each and every single top clubs from England, Spain and Italy had at least a couple true football superstar, but now, apart from Messi and C.Ronaldo and perhaps Neymar, there are simply no superstars in football anymore!
And then there is video games. I mean, you are playing PlayStation 4 or Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 or GTA V or Metal Gear Solid V, and they are all just sequels to the real deal that we got in the 90's or early 2000's.
And what about Harry Potter? Again, a cultural phenonmenon that began in the 90's.
I don't know man, I just feeling like the younger kids these days are living a "sequel" life.
