I watched this red pill video and I also watched a video on this girl who is a feminist give about how she feels about the topic, and feminists victimize themselves and they DO point fingers at the men... saying the men just use them... WHATEVER. They allowed themselves to be used... total BS

Dang, I didn't know some women thought that way. I guess I just hear the women complaining rather than the ones who are just doing their thing. Huh.

Every society has a big problem or two that comes and goes in phases. Right now it's things like feminism and whatnot, in time it'll be something else.

Feminism used to mean something. These days it's just another liberal platform used to spread hatred and nonsense. I do respect the fact that there are what I'd call true feminists out there (The women campaigning for Equal pay, the women who secured Women the vote, etc) but they're not going around showing their boobs to power their message, that's for sure.

And it’s those women who go around showing their boobs that give feminism a bad name. It’s a delicate subject with so much history that is controversial. Feminism is difficult to define. There are various kinds of feminism. So when someone says they are a feminist it is easy for people who aren’t to assume they are just like the ones that irritate others and are actually making things worse.

There are very good points made about how masculinity harms men too. Growing up I was smaller height and build, and I was constantly criticized by family and friends. It certainly created a great deal of anxiety for me for years. Unfortunately, I don't think that certain toxic masculine expectations will ever go away. It's just human nature. However, I think that male and female roles are beginning to blend and become universal. For example more men are taking maternity leave, and more women are getting into bodybuilding and fitness. Historical roles for genders are beginning to disappear. More women are taking leadership roles. The feminist movement we see today is by no means a radical movement, rather it is creating more freedom for both genders to do what they feel comfortable without repercussions. There are industries such as construction that are lagging, but once women begin to make up more of the proportion things will change for the better.

God why can't everyone just let go of "feminism". Both genders have some strong inclination to continuously brnging it up whether it's to support it or hate it. My god, drop it. No one is doing good by bringing up something that should be left alone now.

@UnaKaizen Lovely little irrelevent story, but history will be fucked up too if people continue with modern day feminism too. can't you see it's driving a wedge between the genders?

We're not created equal, not physically and not psychologically.
No matter how the feminists wants to turn things around it's just not going to work.

Do girls really want to get into a fight with a guy? Even with the same weight and height men are still stronger and faster.

The United States Women's Team for Soccer, #1 in the world, lost 7-0 to a U16 boys team. The world record for the 100m dash for women's is broken daily by boys at the high school level.

Then there's the issue with psychology. Men are more aggressive than women and women are more empathetic than men. The brains of both men and women do operate differently... this is a scientific fact.

The women who are feminists only want what's good for them. These are the feminists that say "don't hit a girl", won't ask a guy out, won't propose, think men should not have custody of their kids, and so on. It's so hypocritical.

Everyone is hiding behind a mask, not just boys. Women get to be victims and reap all the benefits, men don't, that's really the big difference. Feminism is anti family and that's why I hate it, if you disagree with me I'll point to some very convincing statistics and graphs of what has happened since the introduction of feminism. By the way, the movement was thought up by men for the purpose of getting more women into the workforce and separating children from their mothers so that they can be raised from a young age by the state to be loyal honeybees.

    Now you know.

There's nothing artificial about gender. This is what happens when you spend too much time in women's studies and no time in biology.

Nobody likes feminists because they're a bunch of lesbians who resent men being in power because they want that for themselves. It's just jealousy. The whole feminist movement was started by lesbians a hundred years ago because they didn't want to have to get married to survive.

I don't understand about this Toxic Masculinity thing. No some men and even some women don't hide behind a mask, we simply put aside being emotional because being emotional does NOT HELP with situations at hand. That doesn't mean we have a lack of empathy, it just means we put aside our personal feelings for analysis in what is needed at hand.

We don't do this to prove our masculinity or whatever it is. We do this because we are trying to reach the best possible solution and we need to go through this and understand that being and showing emotions isn't always the best route and sometimes even becomes the worst route.

It's a tough thing to grasp. Even I have more to learn about Toxic Masculinity. I don't think something can be true 100% of the time for 100% of the population. I agree that sometimes setting aside emotions is the better route.

    "Three things"
Even a genuine interest in helping men doesn't mean you're doing the right thing. Especially if you believe in the feminist conception of patriarchy and toxic masculinity.

    "The Broverman Studies."
So what? Assuming there's nothing wrong with the methodology, if it reflect reality then it's still irrelevant.

    "The Mask You Live In"
That documentary was amazing. The irony was incredible. For an documentary about the harms of toxic masculinity it did an excellent job of refuting itself from what I recall. Amazing.

    "Bell Hooks."
Well you're assuming Bell Hooks is an authority on anything, there's you're problem.

    "Stop crying!"
I don't think most men are treated like that, but even if they were, do you know *why* they would be told that? As in the motivation that make people think it's valuable? The toxic masculinity explanation doesn't help, if anything it obfuscates.

I know what the explanation of toxic masculinity is and again, if anything it obfuscates.

That blog is what I'm talking about with my first point -- and I say again, even a genuine interest in helping men doesn't mean you're doing the right thing. Especially if you believe in the feminist conception of patriarchy and toxic masculinity.

There is a lot of "feminism" (whatever that is) that I agree with. There are many forms of it that are ridiculous to me as well. Yes there are negative societal influences and hardships for both sexes, but from what I've seen, help is always needed for women and never for men.

Regarding your take though, of course there are many gender roles. Every society has culture. Can you have culture without that tradition? I do think many things are biological as well though. I remember when my young male cousins were like 3-5, nothing was better in the world for them than experimenting wrestling with their 15 year old cousin. I don't doubt that was clearly biology. There aren't many 4 year old girls that want want to see if they can overpower me physically.

What do you think of this meta study with 1,600 kids?

Unfortunately i can't agree with point 2. Both my fiance and I came from very patriarchal families and we couldn't have had better upbringings. I have two sisters one who is happily married and starting a family the other who is jetting off all over the world with her career. The same can be said for most of my friends too, the most complete ones at this point in life (30's) all come from traditional complete families.

If there is any "damage" caused by patriarchy (or even point 3) masculinity, i'm not seeing it.

Look, as seriously as I'd love to take this. I can't.

My mind just stops at "gender is a social construct" HUH?

Did you skip 3rd grade biology class or something? Genders are a real biological fact. The word "gender" could be called a social construct, because its part of language, which is indeed a social construction. But the fact that men and women are biologically different isn't a fantasy. Its reality. You can't actively deny a blatant fact like that without coming across as a flat-earther ignorant tinfoil hat wearing crazy person ^^

"Consequently to be a woman is to be an unhealthy psychologically immature adult."

I think I can decontextualize this sexist statement and apply it to only you as far as this take goes. Which means I should disregard your whole take.

You want people to listen to feminists? How about:

-Speaking out against womanizing pricks like that border-jumping predator Hugh Hefner who objectified and hoarded young women depriving them of male companionship in exchange for degrading, exploitive work and money. Not twisting it like it's some empowered way of freeing themselves.

-Speaking out against polygamy which has caused MANY wars. Is it coincidence that many religions are often blamed for war?

-Speaking out against domestic violence, rape, and sexual assault. Not engaging in it.

-Telling women about the truth in wage gap that not all vocations are created equal. And sexist legislation to force females into the workplace is just as bad as sexist prejudice from opportunities.

-Or how about the irony of criticizing the objectification of men and women while spouting how "amazing" sex toys, sex dolls, sex robots that are literally just that.

-How about wearing revealing clothing, dressing unprofessionally, and then complaining about looks you get toying with people's biological tendencies

-How about the hypocrisy of encouraging dating the worst of racial/gender stereotypes and then acting indignant when you're left holding the bag when you knew better in the first place

And probably most of all, admitting you were wrong... on a LOT of women's issues.

There are lot of people in this section are saying you didn't do a lot of research. Most of what you say has a deeper root to it most people have difficulty understanding based on key definitions.

People are looking at keywords that you put out and choosing to immediately disagree with you. This wasn't bad for your first MyTake... But the problem is these are things that have been said., And unfortunately the internet (including this site) did not read what you said and take it into actual account.

I don't want to say I would do a better job of I wanted to do a My take on this, but a lot of people's perspectives (including this website) are starting to feel jaded by the title of feminist. It kind of breaks my heart that your my take is being so misconstrued.

no, feminism is a very flawed ideology that can't separated an ideal world from the one we live in. and would rather disguise there social intolerances as justice. we they fail to realize that many people are perfectly happy or enjoy a patriarchal life style and foce there matriarch on every one else a lot of people me and women like who they are even with social gender norms. sure guys shouldn't sexually assault women. but it should be done by trial not by a damn witch hunt. any movement should be for freedom to make your choice and not be judged for it. not to shame another group of people. plese live and let live accept those who are close minded and just ask them to be civil polite and respectful. but never force your ways on some else unless you are willing to have them retaliate in full.

I agree with the part about how our culture shapes boys and men and what it demands of them.

I feel like we are moving away from the stated goals of feminism when it comes to changes there. Hypermascinity is celebrated more now than it was 30 years ago imho.

I have my own views as to why but they’re not popular.

Women have been becoming steadily less happy since feminism was introduced (women are far more likely to be on antidepressants than men) marriage continues to decline every year, and movements like MGTOW continue to grow.

And GTFO with this patriarchy bullshit, women have more rights and privileges than men (Divorce/family court massively in favor of women with alimony/child support/child custody going almost exclusively to women, women getting less punishment for same crime, men are guilty until proven innocent in sexual assault cases, affirmative action in academia/work force in favor of women, constant demonization of men in media/politics) I could go on, but I think you get the point.

If anything, we live in a matriarchy. Misandry is everywhere if you have half a brain to realize it. Feminism is cancer, when will you realize this?
