You are thinking that means Penn, Wisc, Arizona , Michigan or Nevada needs to go for Trump?

Wrong , he could still win without those and get 272 points.

This is how:

He must win the following :

Virginia

Maine

New Hampshire

Hawaii

Georgia

The easiest of those is Georgia . It is still a RED state that once went for Trump. They are tired of Socialist polices .

Virginia almost, if not. went for Trump in 2020 .

Maine is loaded with Bush Republicans , hard but not impossible to turn

New Hampshire has a lot of Independents , if they vote , Trump could pick up more than 1 point there this time. New Hampshire has gone Red before.

The toughest but maybe the big surprise could be Hawaii going Red. Not so much for Trump but because of how Democrats treat them. The majority of Hawaiians want independence and never wanted to become a state. The Democrats stole their Islands. When the Democrats stole their Homes, land, and their Children's future with a fire , it could be the last straw. They gave them $700 each and told them to get lost. The Democrats won't have a "cheat system "in place there. They figure Trump has no chance of winning . I think there is a chance of a big upset there . Trump should hit Hawaii hard reminding the people of what really happened .

Trump will win all the states he won in 2020. People will be voting on inflation, high gas prices, war in Ukraine , and on the foreign invasion on the border. They also will vote on all the crimes taking place. The thefts that Democrats refuse to prosecute. Gun rights and freedom of Speech. The lies about Vaccine and Covid. Also, the health of Biden . The way Afgan was handled and people left behind. Also , all the crooked deals Biden and his Son made selling out America.

We shall see what happens .

I'm not a US citizen, but I'm interested in US politics. If Trump would be the GOP candidate, he definitely has a chance. But I think it would be hard to flip the states which didn't vote for Trump in 2016 or 2020. I agree on Georgia. Could easily go to Trump. But the chance that Trump will be able to win Pennsylvania or Michigan is, in my opinion, much bigger than that Trump will win Virginia or New Hampshire. Virginia wasn't even close in 2020: 54% Biden, 44% Trump. Hawaii is a blue state since 1988, and Trump never had more than 35% of the votes there. I understand your point about how the Dems treated them, but the gap is huge.

There are definitely ways that Trump could win 270 or more electoral votes, but the described scenario is quite unlikely. I believe he needs states like Pennsylvania, Arizona, Nevada, Wisconsin and Michigan. Perhaps not all of them.

If Trump will win all the states he won in 2020, which is not impossible, he still would need 38 electoral votes more. Georgia, Arizona, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin are the most likely to flip. On the other hand, North Carolina was a really close victory for the Republicans in 2020, it might go to the Democrats in 2024. If that happens, it will get more difficult for Trump. He can't afford to lose North Carolina, he needs Georgia, and even then he would still need at least two other states. Given the number of electoral votes needed, I would say he needs Pennsylvania, otherwise it will become more complicated. Not impossible if he still manages to win Wisconsin and Arizona (I think he doesn't necessarily need Nevada as the number of congressional votes has changed for 2024, which favors the Republicans slightly more), but I think that's quite complicated.

Texas will be a win for the Republicans in 2024, but the percentage of Democratic voters is growing for years. In 2028, Texas will become a swing state.
