How do you feel about nudity in the home? How do you feel about nudity in public such as the beach or other specific public areas?

The artist Spencer Tunick gained fame for photographing huge crowds of nude people in various public locations. Nudity appears unremarked in classical art. Newer fashions reveal more and more skin. Yet the nude body still seems to offend some people for vague reasons. For sanitary reasons, San Francisco recently outlawed the many nudists who freely wandered part of the city. Many countries and cultures, such as Germany and India, accept public nudity in specific areas or situations. Nudity is common in many homes. Do your family members go about nude at times in your home? If you have lived in or if you were raised in another culture or country where inoffensive nudity was accepted, can you describe a bit of the general prevailing attitude toward nudity in that setting?

To everyone, please offer your own opinion and reasons for or against such nudity in various settings.

I personally don't think there is anything wrong with nudity. I live with my parents and in my home nudity was brought up as something to be ashamed of. I recently started sleeping naked and my mom found out because I came out of my room in a robe and she didn't like it and made her judgmental comments. When I get my own place with my BF when we get married I'm sure we'll be nude most of the time. To both of us... it's just the human body and it's not a big deal.

Although I don't think there is anything wrong with nudity... there are many perverted people I would want to protect myself from... so wouldn't go nude in front of random people. If other people feel safe about it then I don't judge... unless they are causing harm to others

I am comfortable nude at my home. My family was conservative but from early teen I used to sleep nude. Just as the MHG told, once my mom found my in eve's dress, she was much offended but I didn't care. Later I explained how comfortable I felt without clothes. After a couple of days arguments, she wisely accommodated my viewpoint warning that I should be properly dressed when father and brother were at home. I consented. After marriage I was open in nudity with husband. Now separated from him, I still stay nude at home.

At home i usually where a hoodie and nothing else. When i'm getting changed in public i wear a towel around my waist so other girls don't see my bare ass and pussy. If i need to shower in public and there's no stall i'll force myself to grow up and get naked. If i'm changing at a friends house i'll just strip butt ass naked in front of them, i really don't care

Nudity is silly. Clothing is and was meant for protection, it has an actual purpose, and the emphasis on wearing no clothing is as foolish as the emphasis on whether you carry a wallet or not. It's a very strange human fixation, for sure.

It's silly because it's not an active state. The use of the tool "clothes" negates the state rather than induces it, which is very rare for tools, so in a sense it's counterintuitive.

Actually in very warm climates clothing is imperative since it keeps you cooler. Surely you know this is part of why the garb in many desert areas is how it is; it prevents sunburn and keeps you cooler than if you were naked.

It's of no consequence. I am never truly thinking about it.

They are fine, it's a human fixation, so that's the game we play. It's just like any other silly social game.

There nothing wrong with nudism. At home you can control the environment more than nudists in public places. At home with family or friends who practices nudists you can be more careful who in the group but at nudists beaches, camps, clubs there is an more open environment of nudists who you not sure of. My children and their friends do a lot of nudists activities in each other home. They know each other and they feel very safe with each other. Public nudists is normal but you have to be more caught where you at.

I have been a nudist since my late teens. I grew up in a home with 5 brothers and 2 sisters. We shared one bathroom. We grew up seeing each other naked. We were not nudists and we did not run around naked at home. But we also did not freak out etc. if we saw each other naked.

When I moved out to live on my own, I discovered nudism and I started living nude at home. My family thought it strange I was always nude. Over the years they have accepted my nudity as who I am. Their wives, husbands, and children have all seen me naked and often will also go nude when here.

I do cover up if I have guests who are not nudist and/or are not comfortable with nudity.

As for nudity in public places. I'm all for it as long as it is legal.

Being a nudist is my choice. I am adult enough and mature enough to know and understand there are people who find nudity inappropriate in most circumstances.

Our society makes a way to big fuss about 'modesty' and 'shame'. A big leftover from 19th century Christian puritanism.

At our home nudity is common. On nude beaches, I'm not annoyed at all. I'll never impose nudity on people who might not want to see it. Other people's nudity doesn't bother me at all, NEVER.

I was not raised in a nude-friendly home. I became a nudist as an adult. I am nude 100% of the time at home. In the warmer months, I like to go out onto my enclosed patio clothes-free. It's a great feeling not having to wear clothes. The only drawback is my electric heat is more expensive for the winter months. I think people of all ages should go nude at home.
