LGBTQ was SHUNNED but now everyone wants to defend them so bad. Making fun of foreigners and complaining how they are lazy, no good, dangerous was a thing but now that Trump said something about it, you all want to rescue those who would need a green card to be here in America.

All kinds of projects for them to show “love and reassurance that we Americans DO want you here in America with us” to them using videos and campaigns. Non-whites and whites back in the day were to be segregated in most regions. This rule is now disregarded. There are many examples but I just chose these.

Your average prejudiced back in the day would flip if he/she saw how many bi-racial and same-sex families there are today.

It's a new age yada yada but the only reason why segregation was permitted, for example, was because most people of that time THOUGHT OF IT AS THE RIGHT THING TO DO. Was everyone about it though? No. Which is why there were civil rights movements, boycotts, and more. This fight ended that divide.

Now: Pedophelia in general is wrong. It may not be now, but someone out there is going to advocate for it and take a stand. Pedophelia may be different from the other taboos of the old times, and I get that comparing the legalization of gay marriage across the US is completely different but at the end of they day, it’s something you should consider.

No one is trying to start some argument or issue. I am for human rights. The above examples are just an observation - I'm not anti-LGBTQ so don't cry. I agree that we should all come together but It's just that everything this society is against, they seem to eventually switch up and act like they've been about it all our lives.

You say they're similar because they're taboo, and that's partially true. However they are taboo for entirely different reasons. A child cannot consent to sexual acts initiated by an adult. The adult is essentially raping and molesting the child. It's abusive, manipulative and has a scarring effect on the child that will haunt them their entire life. But within the LGBTQ+ community everything is about consent. Nobody is using or abusing anyone (generally, abuse can still happen of course but it's not like pedophilia where abuse is basically the main thing). Comparing the two is silly. Pedophilia is frowned upon because it's traumatizing and devastating, can drive victims to suicide later on. It's in the same category as murder. LGBTQ+ things, however, are frowned upon because the bible says so and because certain people think it's "icky" when two consenting adults of the same gender have sex. Yes that's right. 90+% of the world's 7 billion people are against gay/lesbians.
- China, India and Pakistan represent 2.9 billion people (~40%), and neither cultures are accepting of gays. Being Asian myself, declaring oneself as gay is a one-way ticket to being ostracized if you live over there.
- Russia (2%) - the most notorious anti-gay government of any developed country. Putin likes to jail and torture gays, and they are openly targeted by members of the public.
- Any middle eastern or African country - declaring yourself gay is punishable by jail and potential execution.

Really, the only areas that are somewhat accepting of gays are westernized countries (Canada, US, UK), which represent about 2% of the world's population. Even so, it is a highly contentious issue in the US. Simply go to the republican southern states and it's evident that being gay is not acceptable to the public, or the whole debacle on gay marriages. There is no shortage of anti-gay sentiment even where you live. Even if you assume at best that 50% of Americans accept gays, that's less than 1% of the population on the planet.

I think the main reason there is support of the things you listed is because it is done by the free will of consenting adults. That's very important. Pedophilia does not meet this criteria, so I don't think it will gain any traction. And neither does trading people as currency.

The only possible way an argument for pedophilia might gain traction if some ~12 year old girl (and it must be a girl - no one cares if it's a boy or we wouldn't have religion anymore) writes or publicly speaks in thoughtful defense of it, making it clear that it is her choice and that she has the wits about her to make that choice. A whole public gauntlet of questions would be presented to test her - ensuring that she's thought it through, and if she got past it, it would be hard to argue against her case. But even then, people would just say that's only one example. I can see it kind-of getting out of hand if at some point someone brings up the fact that normal adult couples don't have to go through this level of scrutiny, thus exempting other ~12 year old girls from needing to prove that they have thought about it, but I think this is all very unlikely.

In that case I would view it as a sickness of the mind that they know is wrong and are struggling to keep under control. But even then, sympathy isn't really the right word. I think that Pedophilia will never be allowed, it's just too gross to be allowed. However, think that different places may have different definitions for it. For example, the age thing. There in America I see people saying that if you have sex with anyone under 18 you're a pedo... it may be different in other countries.

I mention my country as an example. Here in Brazil there's no defined age of consent, our laws just say that sex with people under 14 is pedophilia. So, it's assumed that the age of consent is 14. So, anyone can legally have sex with 14 year old people as long as consent exists. Don't worry, it doesn't happen often.

I don't think pedophilia will ever be legal. Children are not allowed to work/sign contracts etc without their parent's consent because they are assumed to not have real control of themselves. The fact is that morality is what we as societies say it is. Entirely relative to what the majority declare. If the whole of humanity one day decides that it's ok to be a pedophile, then it won't be "wrong" or unacceptable.

I don't think pedophilia will ever be legalized because it's a form of abuse. Homosexuality and interracial relationships are not abusive until one or both of the partners decide to make it abusive. They may lower the age of consent to 13 instead of 18 in the future (to line up with the age when sexual urges typically begin to emerge), but I doubt there will ever be a time where it's okay for a 30-year-old to have sex with a 6-year-old.

Nobody's perfect, nobody knows everything, we all trying to figure it out as we go along. And, I believe it's always a mistake to settle on a conclusion about anything, the world is in a constant state of flux. Situations constantly arise that will make any previous conclusions redundant - we have to just keep trying to make the best with the evidence and the experience we have, but, crucially, we have to be ready and willing to change at the drop of a hat.

I don't know if that makes sense, and I don't see anybody agreeing with me, but that's how I see it.

Not in our society. One of the few principles we are not abandoning is the idea of control of your person. As long as children are considered incapable of giving consent pedophilia will be considered criminal. now the age of consent varies and may change but I doubt it will change much.

That seems to be an example of what I was saying. She wants to differentiate between 'borderline' paedophiles ('consensual' sex with children near the age of consent) and sexual predators. The age of consent will always be an arbitrary number people will want to argue about but I think the general principle of consent being required for sexual relations and children (of whatever age) being incapable of giving such consent will never be in danger.

I believe that in some future it could happen. Maybe someone will argue that as long as its consensual its okay. I could actually imagine much publicity from people saying things like "love is not a number" or "love wins". Im not saying its okay now, but I definitely believe it could happen
