Why doesn't my boyfriend ever ask me questions about me or my life?

I've been in a long-term relationship for the past couple of years. We are both older and have older children, our own houses and lives, busy jobs, etc. We tend to get along great when we are together and can talk about many things...but those things are generally about my bf. He rarely asks me questions about me or my life. If I just talk about myself he does listen and might ask some questions then but he generally doesn't initiate. I take it as he's just not that into me... Any thoughts?

I believe that you don't to wait on him to initiate asking you questions about you, just let him know what is really going on.. Don't be afraid to tell him anything about yourself.. Holding back will just hurt you in the long run as a couple.. If he doesn't like knowing the real you then he just isn't for you.

And maybe he doesn't ask because perhaps there's some things he probably doesn't want to know, or isn't comfortable knowing at this point...?

Does he talk about his life much? Maybe he figures it's your business and doesn't want to seem disrespectful and pry into your personal life too much. If you talk about it sometimes and he listens, he probably just figures you'll talk about it when you're ready.
