I mean, I'm not white and I'm mostly attracted to white girls. Like probably 80% of me only likes white girls. Whether that's influenced by mass media or what, I don't know

I'm not at all clear on how darker skinned people's beliefs or opinions are anyone else's fault
So light people *should* like themselves, as dark-complected people should like themselves... But in any event, why is it light-skinned peoples' fault what dark-complected people think?
It's not that. It's because of how we're portrayed. Should it matter? No. But unfortunately it obviously does. When you have even toddlers getting their hair burnt and covered in chemicals just for "good hair", it's kinda crazy. And it's not just necessarily us who say it, it's because of what's said to us. That "this hair is unprofessional". Or "this eye color is unattractive", or "this skin is too dark" etc.
Light complected people are told from birth that we're the source of everything that is evil in the world, but quite a few get through it and go on to make lives, the rich and destitute, alike... regardless of what the media, and the world around us tries to make us believe... But that's just because everything is given to us, right?
We don't think you're evil. And you're not the source of all the bad in the world. But to claim this doesn't happen is disingenuous. Though I do think non whites should stop playing the race card unnecessarily, I think white people are quick to assume EVERY instance of racism is just "playing the race card" and they're quick to just dismiss it.
Of course it'd make more sense to appeal to white people. Who makes up most of the population? Who has most of the money? Why would they go through such troubles to appeal to the 2% of the Native American population, especially when they are usually the most poverty stricken, when they could appeal to whites where the money's at? Just purely economically, it makes sense.
Well, we agree on two things: people should stop playing the race card every time anything comes up, and also that we shouldn't automatically discount it... But if you blame others even all the way down to how you feel about yourself, you will never be in control of your own life... and you will never succeed...

When you mean believe, is it believe it's real or support it?
Believe it's real.
I think in countries where white people are the majority, yes.
What about like in countries in Africa where they are a minority yet still have most models as white?
I've never seen this, but if it's true then it makes no sense from a marketing standpoint

I should say "high fashion" or "prestigious" models.
I got an error message
Rats.
Try this: www.eonline.com/.../valentino-uses-almost-all-white-models-for-africa-themed-spring-2016-paris-fashion-week-show-twitter-reacts
Yeah I don't understand that, but I think people have the right to use any models they want.
I agree. But it's a bit problematic if it doesn't represent the people properly. In the end it's their choice, but very insensitive.
People need to embrace their heritage, It makes me sad when people aren't proud of their heritage.
White people are just enormous variety of colors and they do stick out.
But beauty is in everyone. Whote people like exotic beauty and all Asians, Hispanics and black people try to show they r exotic
yeah totally and it pisses me off

Well stated.
