@missten I think it's the same everywhere in Europe, and I think father's day is the same date in the states. It's only mother's day that had different dates
I am a father of three, but, are in awe of women as mums. We have a crucial role, but not quite to the level of women

It really depends and in my opinion has nothing to do with the mother carrying the baby for 9 months. Is what happens when raising the child. Not all mothers are good and not all fathers are good. But ALL good parents get credit form their children, so they dont really need a special day. Same as bad parents end up resented by their children. I think the society values more the mums than the dads because the men more often than the women can't be bother with their children or leaving them and make another family or mistreat them etc etc But as i said at the end it comes down to who was a good parent and who made the most sacrifices for their children
yup, as a black American with two active black parents, I have seen first hand what happens when there is a lack of a father figure in a child's life (boys and girls alike). I can recall at least 1/3 of my peers that are black throughout my lifetime, would be considered "having an absent father".
Specifically this part: "Yes, mothers do deserve all the credit they get for getting pregnant with the baby, carrying him for 9 months, raising the child and so on, but the father does play a tinnie tiny role in this."
I can agree that mothers deserve credit for carrying a child for 9 months (and responsibly adjusting their lifestyle around being pregnant), enduring the pain of childbirth and properly raising a child but I disagree when you say fathers only play a "tinnie tiny role".
Obviously the father doesn't experience pregnancy and childbirth directly, so he wouldn't deserve credit for enduring that. But I think it is fair to say he would also deserve credit for being there for his partner as much as possible, picking up some extra slack from housework, still going to work etc etc.
You'd be surprised to know that, in general, fathers are not the same as "Raymond" from "Everybody Loves Ray".
I agree with everything you just said. That was exactly my point. The "tinnie tiny role" probably made u misunderstand what I meant to say.. I probably didn't express myself right

Yes, very much so. The way that they are often portrayed in the media - stupid, lazy, uninvolved, cowardly oafs - doesn't help at all either.
Yeah, 9 months vs 17 years of mutual effort, you'd think they would get more credit. Yet there is no official father's day either.
In the UK there is
Canada and the USA have father's day as well
Hungarys Father's Day is June 19th
@missten Hmmm... never really heard it celebrated.
@missten It's the same in the UK :)

Probably but there's not many people who care so it's not worth getting worked up about.

Father don't have any credit. They will always give the child to the women except she's recognize like crazy, drug user or drink too much alcohol
There should be a I CHOSE NOT TO HAVE KIDS day for both sexes.
Boys need fathers. I woulda turned out much better if I wasn't too scared of my dad to spend enough time with him to learn how to be a man.
Ask the black community what mental toll the lack of a father figure takes.

Combo of both A and C.
Yes they are underrated
I don't know if fathers are underrated
Just read your description and I strongly disagree with you.
Care to explain why?

Maybe so, I do have a tendency to misunderstand.
