Disclaimer: Obviously what happened to George Floyd is beyond appalling, there is no excuse for what those officers did to him. And the outrage over how the investigation has been handled so far is completely understandable especially if you are black. Well I am one person who is certainly outraged about George Floyd, however, when East Asians around the world were facing racism due to COVID-19 I and many other people I know spoke up against that racism.
Which people who were outraged by the George Floyd incident, made memes about it. Give me names, give me examples, show me proof. I have seen many pages on social media outraged by the George Floyd incident who have also spoken up against racism towards East Asians.

And while racism in all forms is a disgusting, vile, virus of hatred what makes the George Floyd case so outraging is that his neck was pressed down by a police officer's knee for 7 whole minutes even though George Floyd was saying: "I can't breathe" his last words were:
"Please I can't breathe. My stomach hurts. My neck hurts. They're going to kill me." And guess what? They killed him.
And even then, it took a riot and 30 buildings to be burned down, for one police officer just to be taken into custody, yet when a black-Somali Muslim police officer, shoots a white woman, which was likely to have been a mistake as well- he without a doubt gets charged with 12.5 years, and second-degree murder. Why is it when a white woman gets shot, there is no need for riots to obtain her justice, nobody needed to record that either- yet when a black man has a police officer's knee on his neck for 7 minutes telling the police officer he can't breathe the police officer who murdered him gets fired, no charges until 3 days later, and even then he only got charged with third-degree murder. Can't you see the blatant double-standard here?
In response to your update: The outrage for me, is still there. I do agree with you, that I believe more light should have been shone on that issue. Racism is wrong against anyone and I condemn it in all forms.
And for the George Floyd case there are still the double standards I mentioned above. Not to mention, Arthur Martunovich was charged for his crime- there didn't need to be riots and a public uproar in order to get those Asian people he wronged justice, (unless I am wrong then please correct me) but for George Floyd the man was walking free for three whole days and even now, has only been charged with third-degree murder- and it just isn't enough.
Because we are stereotyped as somewhat of a model minority instead of a discriminated one. People say silly stuff like Indian Americans make way more than White Americans, so they are not discriminated against. Chinese Americans are being attacked and being called Wu Han, but people find it funny because it's been made culturally appropriate to laugh at Asians because we're honestly not that vocal of a group.
I think that it's mainly because of the mentality. I think those who are outraged over the George Floyd incident are mainly saying because he is an American, and doesn't deserve the treatment he had. Does the "whites" feel inferior to the "blacks"?
Whereas the previous American Airlines incident or the current Covid19 "war", is mainly because Asians are being prejudiced for no matter who they are. Assault, hate crime, and bias attacks on Asians due to Covid19 is because the first person to contract it is an Asian. Then, the media shows the dark side of it. I do think Americans are being biased for who they stand up for. But it does beg the question, what did the Asians do to deserve this treatment? The same thing, what did the African-Americans do to deserve this treatment?
No matter what, the mentality MUST change. Don't just blame others or disapprove others because of their ethnicity or what they had done in the past. Do people like holding grudges? Or can they forgive and move on? I do think the majority is the former. Hence, these things happen.

The outrage over the black people deaths is a form of in-group loyalty and out-group hostility. And that's not trying to dismiss the appalling reality of what happened just as you said. There is less known history of violence against Asians and less known occurrences in the United states. Unfortunately, the police have a job to do and sometimes excessive force is abused by those police. Is it racist? Probably but I would like to stress to all people of colour that the average white person in the rest of the world does not harbour such hatred for black people as it appears that American white people do. Please don't lump us in with them. This is a problem of America.
Perhaps because the police don't have a habit of murdering Asians on a regular basis? There's plenty of things in this world to be outraged about; it's just that some are more rage worthy than others. Yeah, some Asians have it bad and Asian populations have been targeted in the past, but the African American community is taking the brunt of it right now (and perhaps always) so that's what we focus on.
And then there's the issue that just because some Asians might have it bad doesn't mean there shouldn't be outrage over police brutality aimed en masse at African Americans. They're two separate issues, and while they're similar on the surface, they're wholly dissimilar in both context and scale. I would say the plight of Asians, in the current day United States, is not equivalent to the plight of African Americans.

For example, I went back to April 2017 to find news articles on David Dao, the 70 year old doctor that got pulled off of the United Airlines plane. His story got covered for _weeks_ and continues to this day, in the Liberal news media. I found articles from 2017 at the Washington Post, the New York Times, CNBC, CNN, the LA Times, CBS, NPR, Newsweek, ABC, Reuters, The Hill, Cosmopolitan, the AP, Business Insider, USA Today, Time, Fortune, People, and The Guardian - all reporting on how horrible the David Dao incident was. There are articles still being published this month about it, from the same news outlets. The Hill, NPR and the New Yorker even did full on exposes about violence aimed at Asians and Asian Americans, both due to coronavirus and before the pandemic. If the OP means to say it isn't being covered, then he's sorely mistaken.

I somewhat I agree to your statement that African Americans are the victims of police brutality (at large) mainly because of how the media portrays the situation. Although, I personally prefer the statistics than to go according to news outlets for they can be biased.

@ADFSDF1996 There will never be nationwide protests regarding the treatment of Asian people (at least not in the foreseeable future), for two reasons: 1) because the cops don't routinely kill a disproportionate number of Asians each year, and 2) if they do ever start doing that, the government will actually do something about it if it ever happens.
As are the Asian issues you mentioned in your post. It's _FAR_ more prevalent in the Liberal news media than in the Conservative media. In fact, as I mentioned in another comment, quite a few Conservative outlets have run pieces outright blaming the victims for the abuse. As they often do.
During the dispute between the Asian students and Harvard, it was the conservatives who sided with the students, not the liberals. The liberals actually sided with Harvard.
Well, Conservatives are likely to side with any groups of students who try to dismantle Affirmative Action at a university. That's kind of a no-brainer. Don't kid yourself into thinking it's because they're concerned for the plight of Asian Americans.
That’s not the only time they sided with Asians. They also sided with Asians in the 1980s by signing a bill that paid reparations to the Japanese-Americans who were interned during WWII.

I've already done a sufficient job of debunking your claim that Liberals don't care about Asians - specifically the three cases you mentioned in your OP. So, now you've trying to hold up something that happened 78 years ago - three generations - ago as proof Liberals don't care about Asian Americans. That's disingenuous at best. I could bring up a myriad assortment of horrible things the very same people who make up the Republican Party in its present form did 78 years ago, but I won't because it's simply not relevant. Something that the current generation's great grandparents did doesn't have any bearing on what the goals and attitudes of our current political parties are. The NAACP has 500,000 members now and the US has 2.5 times the population it did at the start of WW2 so if it was as influential as it is now it would have to have had 200,000 members at the time so not really.

The Conservative media also reports on them, just enough to blame the victim (in each of the three cases you listed in your OP, Liberal news outlets harped on it for weeks whereas Conservative outlets went out of their way to find reasons why the victim was at fault).
Let's also not forget that it's largely Trump and the types of people who support him who are actually committing the majority of the discrimination against Asians. How many times did Trump repeat the moniker "China Virus", despite repeatedly being asked not to... by the Asian American community? How many times did Asians and Asian Americans get discriminated against because of the actions of Trump and his supporters? Well, two of the three cases you listed in your post, to start with.

As unfair as it may seem, most of this stems from the overall discrepancies black people face in america. Overall, Asians do exceedingly well financially and academically and aren't typically the target for police brutality and systemic oppression. Black people, however, face poverty and injustice on a much higher scale. It is of course terrible when anyone is wrongfully treated... but the overwhelming outrage in regards to black people goes deeper than just a few incidences.
All of that stuff is self inflicted, when you're 18.5× more likely to attack a police officer than the other way around, you should expect that they'll take a few extra precautions when they're around you.

And yes there were hate crimes against Asians as there were hate crimes against other groups of people but pre-pandemic around 1.8% of the targets of hate crimes were Asian Americans while they make up 5.4% of the population. Anyone would be right to be upset by a hate crime or instance of police brutality but what's causing the mass outrage is certain groups being selectively targeted.

You initially compared all the number of police brutality related incidents in relevance to the Asian American population and then you compared those incidents in relevance to the US population as a whole.
No, I compared the percentage of hate crimes committed against Asian Americans to the percent of the US population that is Asian American which indicates that Asian Americans are (or were before the pandemic) three times less likely to be the victim of a hate crime than an average US citizen. Meanwhile African Americans are roughly twice as likely to be killed by a police officer as the average US citizen. So if one group is less likely to be the victim of a hate crime than most people in this country while another group is more likely to be the victim of police brutality than others, then there would (rightfully) be more outrage about the police brutality.

Well as we can see from the "Chinese virus" fiasco and the resulting fallout of racially motivated attacks, they don't only focus on black issues, they focus on marginalized groups. They focus more on groups that face more marginalization just like humanitarian relief organizations focus more resources on places where there is a greater humanitarian crisis.
No, but those are ones that popped up in the last week. And as stated before, the reason there hasn't been as much focus on Anti-Asian hate crimes as there is about police brutality against African Americans pre-pandemic is because Asians were less likely to be subjected to hate crimes than the general populous while African Americans are more likely to suffer from police brutality (not because of the SocJus boogeyman's' bias against the privileged Asians).

If one group suffers more injustices, there's (rightfully) going to be more outrage and activism aimed around that group than others and that's not "favoritism" any more than sending more food aid to a country with more hungry people is than one with less is "favoritism" (that is unless you consider the lives of the country with more hungry people to be less valuable). And the outrage that you see isn't just a response to individual instances of racism, it's the spark that ignited the fire fueled by decades of injustice.

The civil rights movement were various social movements working together. Each movement represented a certain group of people. So yes it’s a false equivalence.
The social justice movement of today is one group that claims to equally represent all people, so they have a burden to equally represent all people without any form of favoritism.

The ONLY false equivalences here is comparing the outrage against hate crimes committed against a group that are three times less likely to be the victim of a hate crime than the general population to the outrage over police brutality against a group that is twice as likely to suffer from it than general population and comparing the outrage over a black man being asphyxiated by a knee to his neck with that of an Asian being forced off an airplane.

The civil rights movement equally represented every group but the reason why you think it primarily focused on African Americans is because most historians put emphasis on their endeavors during the civil rights movement. Most people are ignorant to the fact that Asian Americans, specifically Japanese Americans had their own civil rights movement in Hawaii during the 1950s which led to Hawaii becoming an official state of the US. But I digress. During the 60s and 70s many other groups were just as active as African American civil rights activists it’s just that historians don’t put much emphasis on them.
And yet again you continue to ignore the Donald Sterling incident which nowhere near as appalling as the George Floyd incident yet still got nationwide outrage. Even though Donald Sterling was swiftly punished for his remarks.

Given that you complained about there not being as much outrage over an Asian being dragged off a plane than a black man being killed, you're obviously projecting. True equality is where everyone is treated equally but you seem to be unable to grasp that the recent outrage isn't just over the death of George Floyd, it's about a recurrent pattern of excess police brutality against African Americans. If there was equal outrage over police brutality and Anti-Asian hate crimes then there would be more outrage against the individual hate crimes against Asians because the former occurs more frequently than the latter. That's NOT equality.
If you can’t show equal outrage for the injustices committed against more than one group, then that’s a matter of not measuring up to your social movement’s standards.
One can be as upset about INDIVIDUAL acts of injustice but again, you can't understand that the outrage isn't just over George Floyd's death; it's over a recurrent pattern of excess police brutality. And given that these occur with a much greater frequency than hate crimes against Asians, there is (rightfully) more outrage over the SUM of these acts. Just like if one group of 10 people is killed while another group of 100 is killed, you can be equally as angry over the death of each individual but there should be more outrage against what caused the death of the 100 people.
But if there was an activist group that opposed pollution should it focus more of it's boycott/divestment efforts against companies that pollute more often or no?

Okay not in America no. You should have been more specific there. However they did work for next to nothing in hard labor jobs. The USA then prohibited new immigrants from Asian countries from entering the country for 10+ years. Which is possibly the only law to have ever prevented immigration based on race.

Asians built your railroads which grew your country’s economy during the late 1800s-1900s where thousands of them died. Whites loved hiring them because they were cheaper than hiring white Americans. There were a few instances where jealous whites even massacre and killed Asians.

@jessloudmouth the only reason why Asians are doing better than Spanish or black Americans is because they study ridiculously hard in school to get the credentials they need to succeed in life. Asians emigrate to the US as poor immigrants. They are all self built into successful educated individuals. And they frequently have to work 10 times harder to succeed than whites. Asiana are known to be hard working which got them dominating the Ivy League colleges. And now Harvard want to get rid of some Qualified Asians to accept some less qualified students just for the sake of diversity. And Harvard actually lost the lawsuit. There was evidence they were discriminating against Asians
Slavery is everywhere in our history, Chinese, Egyptian, Greek etc. But apparently the whole concept o my belongs to Black people.
No one ever talks about the Irish slaves that were taken to the Americas and Caribbean.
No one wants to talk about the Benin empire, how the facilitated the capture and sale of their own people and across the African continent. They even pleaded with the British empire to not abolish the slave trade.

@jessloudmouth - ROFL. Do **try** and educate yourself. Chinese were slaves in a number of American cities. San Francisco as an example was well known to have Chinese slaves. They were brought in & sold to predominant families as "servants". But in reality, they were slaves. And that's just one example. This slavery went from east to west coast. Particularly after African-Americans were freed because someone had to do the jobs didn't they or do you think the white former slave owners did it themselves?
That is not including such things as the railways. It's been reworked into the history books that the Chinese were paid but pocket lint does not pay for hard backbreaking & incredibly dangerous labour that the railway workers underwent. It was actually a joke among the white foremen if Chinese would make it out alive of the tunnels after setting the dynamite charges. And quite literally if they had tried to pay a white person the same meager sneeze worthy salary that white person (who wasn't a slave himself, as enslaved / indentured Irish were also roped into the task in some areas) would tell the employer to go fuck themselves with a rail tie.

I think what is most sickening is that there is so much history that is not even bothered to be included in American history textbooks so people are raised to believe it is only black people who have suffered. The same way our News media never report about the racism non blacks race. It’s just another way or showing if you’re not black , you don’t matter at all.
