Loneliness is loneliness and the source of it can be anything and many things. But society has made it that men have to have sex and not be a virgin or else there is something "deficient" in a person as they think of anybody. It is a double standard because women for eons are expected to be having sex for reasons a man desires and may not be what she desires. God made it clear that it should be an equal decision between those who desire such a union as husband and wife. During the middle ages, it got worse as the Catholic church twisted things for their poor reasons.

This is where the confusion comes in as far as men and women discovering their purpose. If you pick up Myles Monroe's book for women's purpose and or men's purpose how God designed us, he digs further in the lies of feminism, what was taught wrong in the church, the whole 9 yards. However, the main top reason mostly for these men is basically sexual desires and few for sexual companionship. For women, it's basically love, romance, or even friendship.

The key here again is the lack of the needs met and motivations. Most of the men are with sex-based concerns. Rarely friendship or even family as some grew up with no family or from dysfunctional homes. Something out of their control as it is for women also. For most women on here it['s basically split 30/40.

30% romance, sex, or getting married (dating or boyfriend)
30% is friendship, wanting to fit in, etc.
40% is the combination of the 1st and 2nd listed, but mainly of their purpose in life.

for men:

70% are looking for sex and sexual attention. <-- regardless if they say romance, marriage, etc. SEX is still the main intent. Rarely it's because they truly desire real companionship.
20% are struggling mainly with depression because men have their own unique challenges. A man according to the world is expected to have status, money, everything. He needs to have a car, education, etc. And while there is nothing wrong with these things, the problem is the intent. I will explain more about this afterward.
10% may be strictly mental health disorders and men get a lot of stigma because of it than women, the same where a lot of men are discriminated against with poverty, rape, and being a domestic abuse victim than women and even with suicide rates. Women will get more advantages and resources than men because men are perceived as "strong" and women as "weak". They're forgetting that men are just as human as women are.

Overall. It has to do with the fact that as I said, men are expected to have everything and women little to nothing materialistically. Again, nothing wrong with this per se. It's the fact that they say this and yet make it harder for men to achieve that. Just as for women in a way depending. People expect me to live on my own, HOW when others tried to hinder me from the resources I needed to succeed?

Again, it all depends on the root of the problem. Just that women have more support for being alone, men sadly are slowly catching up. I believe that all feminism did instead of making a point of the injustices most women have faced, is sadly closed doors to men needed resources also. It's all about what women need and want instead of what can we do to ensure both sexes have the resources they need, without hurting one or the other.
