Do I think they deserve the same rights as straight people? Yes. I can't sit here and think it's ok to strip someone the right to have adequate medical care or a job opportunities or to go somewhere and be excluded/declined. In terms of marriage, that's a touchy subject. For example, girls have certain morals and standards they live by, correct? Well, I believe in God, and the words of God, life is challenging for all and predicating those beliefs, but yes religion does not accept homosexuality. I can't say, I accept gay marriage because it would go against my beliefs. I could say why does legalizing gay marriage world wide matter anyways? Many people on GAG (the younger generation) don't even seem to care to get married nowadays. Marriage is just a legal licence to say (you are married). However, many couples nowadays gay or straight aren't committing anyways in big/fancy expensive weddings and living with each other as a couple. I do believe in the sanctity of marriage. But I know someone will read this and think, "wait so you are accepting of straight marriage and not gay marriage? That makes me a hypocrite". There 3 reasons why the LGBTQ have given me a bad impression is that in Toronto.
1) They have the gay pride parade every year in June in Toronto and other cities around the world. I see gay half naked men dressed in dominatrix gear dancing on floats with little kids. That's wrong and weird on so many levels. Because if a straight man were to do little kids at a parade wouldn't that be seen as pedophilia? It would. Also, during the gay pride parade, there are even naked adults with kids around. Again, that is wrong on so many levels. Why do we have the indecent exposure act law but 365 days a year but
for 1 day during the year it's acceptable, again that is wrong.
2) The LGBTQ agenda in public schools. Growing up in the 90s, I found it odd watching those sex-ed videos in class and girls having their periods or guys getting erections. Therefore, it's not right to talk about transgender thinking or doing this or that or other gay acts to kids at a young age, it's brainwashing. I'm sure if I were a teacher, no girl and no guy on here would want me to teach their kids, the concepts of another religion (ex: Islam) while people were Jewish or Christian, correct? Which is besides the point because all three of those religions are intertwined in some way since they are all apart of the Abrahamic religions of faith. But regardless, people who are hardcore Christians would not accept that.
3) I have gone to rallies, I have gone to protests, I have spoken to others and even had teachers, teaching assistants/professors in university who would be LGBTQ supporters but be rude or uptight with their behaviour. When I say behaviour, I don't mean I am arguing with them about their views. But the LGBTQ are seen as compassionate, understanding, liberal-minded which they say they but are not. I once had a TA who labelled me as sexist because I did not cite a female scholar properly which was accidental. I know many people in life or have crossed paths with with her type of persona and behaviour, thus, the LGBTQ aren't as supportive as they seem in my opinion.

I'd say nowadays it's way more accepted and even advertised.
See the powers that be found that a good solution to reduce the ever-growing population of the planet is by massively pushing for gay rights and "pride" because gay people can't reproduce, sure sperm bank is an option for women but not a choice that is easy to make for someone people.
Not saying homosexuality is wrong but it's not so noble that it should be taught in schools like gospel.
Telling kinds it's ok to be gay will have them question themselves and stubborn teenagers often come to conclusions and stick to them no matter what.
I had a classmate back in middle school. A strange kid who rarely showered but he was horny beyond control, he tried to get with as many girls as he could and the more he failed the more he lowered his standards, ended up dating a class monstrosity in the end.
He even wrote a love poem for a teacher we had (she was super hot though). He left school later and now I find him on social media married to a man.
Now this guy was not born gay as many would like to claim. I am a live witness that he liked women, but his failures created doubt and when he was told it's ok to be gay he said yes as it's a convenient to blame it on sexual orientation instead of how he looked and behaved.
People seem to be uncomfortable in trying to understand the world isn't all about them! I may not be into the life style but one of my best friends is and its not easy even her and her girlfriend trying to get an apartment.. whatever makes people happy thats I want in the end for her is her to be happy! People should stop shaming people who dont think the same and respect their desires as long as no one is getting hurt!! But because someone thinks its wrong they project their opinions on others! Im not here to say its right or wrong im here to support my friend not like she bashes my boyfriend not like I bash her girlfriend were respectful. The world has become closed off to thinking there can be more than one way to happiness and both can be correct for the types of people they are!
the reason why some people refuse the LGBTQ community is it's a sin in most religions and they think it's a bad thing or an abnormal thing.
to me, I think everyone deserves love, respect, and to never be harmed just because they are different.
nobody has the right to attack or judge another soul.
if you believe it's sin then let God judge. you are not God lol
if you believe it's a bad thing then easy don't be gay lol nobody is forcing you.
to me, I want the same human rights for everyone. I have LGBTQ friends and they are no different than anyone. as long as this person is not breaking the law or harming anyone then let people live. by the way I'm from a Muslim family and this is what i think is right.. live and let people live and WE ARE NOT GOD TO JUDGE

Arguments I've heard include:
They *do* have the same rights that straight people have. Marriage isn't a right; it's a licensed privilege wherein one must ask permission from the state. If it's a privilege and not a right, the state can discriminate. The state routinely discriminates against plural families for example. One cannot marry multiple people at the same time. Adopted people cannot marry their siblings or any other family member, even though the question of genetic health is null here, since they are genetically unrelated.
They fear (erroneously in my opinion) that this will damage the institution of marriage. If one argues it's a right to marry when you are mutually in love, then this very much *can* open a potential door for plural marriages. In fact, this is a point on which I actually agree with those who oppose gay marriage. I don't know how one could argue that people should have the right to marry when they are mutually in love and consent to do so, yet tell plural families they do *not* have the right to have their marriages with multiple consenting spouses legally recognized.
The fact that you're asking this question leads me to suspect that you don't seem to have asked them, you have not listened to them, you have not had a civil discussion or debate with them, and probably never befriended them. If you did, you would already know how they answer.
I am curious to listen to what @Gwenhwyfar and @OlderAndWiser have to say about the constitutionality and legal implications of same sex marriage.I’m trans but I dont give a fuck what anyone thinks what I give a fuck about is my country and freedoms and the liberals saying they support me ain’t really done shit but take my freedoms away and make the Taliban bigger than it was when we first went to war meanwhile the Republicans ain’t done shit to take my freedoms away like y’all say they do so fuck off we need Trump back
Because they don’t care to educate themselves and never will, the only perspective they have on the lgbtq community are sjw compilations, conservatives “owning” leftist college students, and conservative influencers pushing straight up misinformed bullshit information.
They aren’t educated on lgbtq issues, they don’t want to be educated on lgbtq issues because they quite literally have nothing to say when facts and statistics don’t even line up with their supposed “facts over feelings”
🥳Because we don't like attention whores in general and loud mouths whining about their sexual preferences are attention whores. More importantly some of us want civilization to be healthy and survive for a long time and we don't believe teaching young kids that heterosexuality is optional is a good idea. Kids were always confused in the past and their parents gave them direction. Now confused kids have the option of claiming that they're homosexual so many do that. These same kids would claim they're aliens or super heroes if we gave them the impression that those are options. No proof that they were actually born homosexual.
The issue is what is the purpose of marriage, most people think the purpose of marriage is to have kids and procreate the earth, gay couple while they can adopt they can’t have biological children.
if the purpose of marriage is just to slap a ring on someone’s hand to get a tax benefit then, Ok I see the logic there, But ultimately the goal of marriage is to have kids why can’t you just live with each other do you thing and be done with it.
that being said if you want to take tax benefits away from all married couples regardless if there straight or gay I’m for thatWho says that many people do? I never understood why people gave any fucks about what two consenting adults do between each other. This always boggled my brain even as a kid, why do you want to stop them? It never made sense to me lol
Nonetheless, people regardless of their sexual orientation deserve to be married and deserve to be left alone. It’s been that way for a few years nowBecause they think they deserve more than straight people get. Someone doesn't want to make a straight person a wedding cake, no big deal, just go to another baker. Someone doesn't want to make a gay couple a wedding cake because of their religious beliefs, sue the bastards and run them out of business. That is why I hate gays. They don't keep it quiet and live the lives they have won, which I grant them to be on fair grounds as straights, but they want fucking more because they think they are entitled and their fucking parades don't help their cause either.
I don’t think the problem is lgtbq “people” I think it is the lgtbq COMMUNITY that is the problem, protesting, demanding, wanting parades, recognition, certain segments of the lgbtq community are angry beyond belief that white heterosexual males will not date them. One on one y’all are ok, but when it’s the community it’s all about “ agenda” like tranny reading hour at the public library, horsey tail butt plug parades down Main Street. since when is going public with your sexual perversions a RIGHT?
From what I have seen most people at least that I know don't have a negative look towards the LGBT community. But around here we have quite a bit of basically Karens but they jump the gun claiming anything that doesn't go their way is due to homophobia. Like acting out in public or cussing around kids and when asked to stop they freak out about the people attacking them for being Trans or homosexual. So it's more that a few rotten apples spoil the bunch. It's like that with every group on the planet.
nobody says that. litterally nobody. the only reason that gay and lesbian people were not allowed to have a "marriage" is cause marriage is nothing but a fictional institutionialized contract defined as being "between a man and a woman". nothing keeps them from loving each other and living each other. i'm still on the fence about allowing that, simply cause what the word marriage means. not cause i think gays and lesbians shouldn't be alllowed tolove each other.
i mean civil uinions were always legal. the point why marriage was not allowed, was cause the institution of marriage is meant to benefit couples in an effort to support the generation of offspring, which in the case of lesbian and gay couples is biologically impossible.Don't care about those shitty people. They do all the most immoral things and cover it up and only attack homosexuals. That's the nature of those shitty people. For example, people who show the greatest respect to prostitutes who sell their bodies and make money, lash out at homosexuals. There is a contradiction in this. And these immoral homophobic people often argue that homosexuality is wrong by giving examples based on the religion they believe in. But they do nothing to get a self-selling prostitute back on the right track. They are two faced creatures.
Thats the thing. Those percentage of people thinks just because they're the same sex, that their relationship can't be normalized or considered accepted, Or if one party is trans or identify as a certain gender besides male or female.
All I can say is that this era for acceptance is just going backwards... But there are those in this era that just doesn't have any acceptance in them to begin with.If you purchase a right and left shoe, and I mail you two left shoes, and tell you that you're some type of monster for not being okay with me expecting you to treat the two left shoes as equal or superior to the right and left shoes you ordered, what would that make me?
If you cannot see the folly for what it is, it is a spiritual blindness which is your true problem.I think it's common knowledge that a ton of people over the globe don't support LGBTQIA+
Mainly because it's supposedly a "sin", and they believe that doing the deed should only result in the female bearing children.
I can't really tell you why they don't think the folk of LGBTQIA+ should get the same rights as straight people
Just gotta deal with their bs, I guess ¯\_(ツ)_/¯This is BS, gays have all the same rights. In fact they are a protected class, so they have more benefits if someone even looks at them the wrong way, or tries to not make a cake for them.
When I hear this, and you did down, they say precieced psychological drawbacks, like if they hug in public, some rednecks will beat them up or even kill them. When in reality most people don't care. As with real rights, they have all the same. They’re a fringe group. Look at how they act. Every time they talk, they’re either screaming at you or talking with an authoritarian stance. They want rights that no knew has ever had. They want you to bend over and get on your hands and knees while they humiliate you in public. Oh yeah and they will take donations and use it for themselves. That’s another thing. Blm is really a lgtbq organization that uses the blm moniker purely for beneficial reasons. That co-founder who bought 4 houses from Blm donations towards underprivileged black communities. The Georgie Floyd donations. Patrisse Khan-Cullors. What a fake name meant to sound high class and Sophisticated.
Straight people don't take marriage for granted, actually straight men take marriage as a curse in form of a duty to society.
Why do gay people want to sign away their freedom and enter into a satanic threesome with the state? And worst, force churches who are second to the state in their evil to marry them?
Oh, well, most gays don't, thank the gods, but they are being increasingly pushed towards it and already regretting.I completely agree you can't help who you are or who your attracted to and love. I have trans cousin who believes they don't have s gender I support them no matter what
Me personally I generally think everyone should be able to love whoever they see fit regardless if the person either have a penis or a vagina. As long nobody ain't trying to harm innocent people I say let people be free to get married.
I think the whole marriage thing should b thrown out of law altogether. It is a religious ceremony, and I like my state and church separate. If u want to get those benefits that are associated with marriage anyone/everyone can go get a “domestic partnership agreement”
