I know how to mind my business and not judge other people's situations that I don't know anything about. Especially not when there are people working 2 and 3 jobs and still struggling while the rich sit on their ass and get richer. 🤷🏾♀️
It's better off that kids are poor so they don't get spoiled. And 20k a year? That number seems a bit high. There is no way I spend that much on my kiddos a year
People circumstances change very quickly, empathy and compassion are free, I don't judge the choices of others, I have no idea what their circumstances were or how they ended up in poverty...
So how do you afford designer baby clothes and new toys on an almost daily basis and hand made ethically sourced organic customized high chair with just $6000?
@bamesjond0069: The marginal cost for the next children declines significantly, plus there are hand-me-downs and you can buy almost everything used. I have four kids too.
@bamesjond0069: I think that's a good option for some families, but it's hard to live on one salary, which is why I usually don't recommend it. I won't do it myself although I'm pretty qualified to.
condoms are only 98% effective. That means out of every 100 people who use them, 2 pregnancies will result. You can still get pregnant while relying on condoms. And there is no birth control that is 100% effective. There's just not. You can be medically sterile and still have children in some cases. Life finds a way and all that.
When you say something is 100% effective, meaning that it can never fail, it can never fail. In this regard 99.9% is not the same as 100%. What birth control are you referring to? Also what gel are you talking about? spermicide?
All I'm hearing is someone that doesn't understand how statistics work. Also just because you're financially stable at one point doesn't mean you'll always be financially stable. People in poverty with kids could have made any number of logical, smart decisions and still ended up where they are now because of sheer bad luck.
In real life, condoms are at best only 85% effective. If condoms are used perfectly, then they're 98% effective, but nobody really uses it "perfectly."
@tatianamay yeah for real, you think people that are about to have sex are gonna be like "oh hey babe I don't think you've got enough of an air bubble at the tip of the condom. Better take that one off and put on another one." or "was this condom kept in an ideal environment and not just in your wallet for the last 2 years?" 98% is at the best of times. I think the reason behind people insisting that birth control is 100% effective is just because they don't want to consider that they might do everything right and still have accidentally get pregnant. Kinda like those people that insist that chronic physical and mental illnesses only happen to people who do things wrongs
@WowwGirl I'm not defending people who are too careless to use birth control, but 15 out of 100 women get pregnant every year when only using a condom. I'd use both birth control and condoms when I grow up 🤷♀️ Better safe than sorry
@wowwgirli ts really not. Do you seriously think that every person in poverty who has one or more kids failed to use birth control or intentionally had a kid while in poverty? because that's just not reality
yeah exactly, you're kinda proving my point. You've convinced yourself that you're too smart to ever have a surprise pregnancy, when statistically speaking there's not a lot of ways you can absolutely ensure that, short of permanent sterilization or celibacy.

Private school was a huge part
Private school is a waste
Depends on the kid
People circumstances change very quickly, empathy and compassion are free, I don't judge the choices of others, I have no idea what their circumstances were or how they ended up in poverty...
My taxes up set me
20K is an UNDERESTIMATE, especially when you take into account post-education or specialty training!
I know I was being nice
I have RADICAL views about this.
Okay
Sorry. This is a sore point with me.🤪🤣
Fair enough
I would never have a kid if i am not financially stable in life
That's why I waited.
You want kids some day?
Probably
I feel bad for them, but also feel disgusted with their stupid behavior.
I agree , those people
To me are scumbags and only care about themselves
I have 4 children, it is absolutely not $20K PER child. It is closer to $6K per child and we live in an expensive area.
So how do you afford designer baby clothes and new toys on an almost daily basis and hand made ethically sourced organic customized high chair with just $6000?
@bamesjond0069 I think more like 75k myself
@bamesjond0069: The marginal cost for the next children declines significantly, plus there are hand-me-downs and you can buy almost everything used. I have four kids too.
@Mangospacho I spend that on my hair. School is 10k alone. Clothes would be a couple grand. Sorry but no way..
@Avicenna I doubt with him it would decline 😂
@Avicenna That’s exactly what we do. It’s probably $20K for the first child and $3K for every child after that.
@WowwGirl But you do have amazing hair so it is worth it, right?
Thank you dear. Probably not lol
School 10k? Move someplace where the public schools are good and have IB programs.
I'm planning on having some more kids.
@Avicenna why not homeschool?
@bamesjond0069: I think that's a good option for some families, but it's hard to live on one salary, which is why I usually don't recommend it. I won't do it myself although I'm pretty qualified to.
Don’t get me wrong. A lot of people can easily spend $20k per child. If you factor in a Disney vacation, that’s easily achievable
No but couple grand for hair lol kidding
I pity their children, knowing how eager people will be to keep the child starving and uneducated just to make the mother feel bad.
I feel bad for their kids too
But bad enough to suppress any personal resentments should anyone try to help? That's the line too many refuse to cross. It's a petty spiteful world..
No they made their choices. We had kids young and were broke. But are young enough to enjoy our life now.
Everyone should be broke at some point it humbles you
Exactly.
Glad you understand
Condoms also fail sometimes. No birth control is 100% effective
99.9%
Condoms and foam/gel are 100%

Use get too boom problem solved
No there's birth control that is 99.9% which in science is 100%

All I hear is excuses for bad decisions

Reality is it's avoidable
Disaster is never 100% avoidable, and anyone who thinks says it is is just too scared to admit that they too could be hit by it
I don't have kids I took sex ed
yeah exactly, you're kinda proving my point. You've convinced yourself that you're too smart to ever have a surprise pregnancy, when statistically speaking there's not a lot of ways you can absolutely ensure that, short of permanent sterilization or celibacy.
Nope, not an ounce.
Sucks for the kids, but what can you do? Sterilize one of the parents I guess, but that seems draconian.
Nice word
No. NO ONE should have kids before they at least have a concrete plan of how to provide for them, and themselves.
Yessss not at 16
Kids aren't that expensive. Smh.
To some
I do feel bad for them and what's worse is I think we are looking to the wrong people to solve them.
The people doing it are who should solve it
100% there’s nothing wrong with help but you shouldn’t be dependent on that assistance. You should be able to get back on your feet without it.
I feel bad for the children, but also don't endorse abortion. This lustful world will be cleansed in flame soon enough.
Some people have poor impulse control. Also, condoms aren't foolproof.
IUDs are gel and condoms are. I'm impulsive but understand critical thinking
what does "IUDs are gel and condoms are mean?
Or sorry
no and I don't like how my tax dollars pay for their bad decisions
No because u srsly don’t know what Life brings what kind of twisted situations occur and how people can fuck u over
UK here. If you have kids the government will pay you to bring them up.
