I think intelligence is too complex to measure with just a number, but the number IS a good way to present a quantitative relative "level of logical intelligence" compared to others. Like, my IQ is 148, as several actual tests I've taken (not online tests, real ones) have said. Between 145 and 150. So I could quickly say I'm about 50% smarter than the average person, even if it's really more complex than that.
I think Genius level IQ is supposed to be 160+ and some celebrities like James Woods, Natalie Portman, and Sharon Stone supposedly are that smart. But they sure don't act like it. I'd say yeah, 160+ is the start of "truly smart." But I'm only around 150, so honestly, I don't even feel smart. I feel like everyone else is just DUMB.
I feel like the "average person" just lacks common sense and are easily tricked and manipulated, especially when it comes to politics and hot button issues. It's like, people let others manipulate their emotions to lower their intelligence and logic. And despite how many times this happens, people STILL keep letting it happen. We can have one of the ugliest US presidential election campaigns ever in 2016 and in 2020, people go right back to believing in the system again. Like they've learned NOTHING and the Men In Black just flashed them and erased their memories or something.

Personally IQ in my eyes is a measure of one's capability and potential to learn something and process information and relay it in a way that not only they understand, but others can understand as well. However, it is not the end all be all for one's life and capabilities.
Bottom line. If you can function in everyday society by maintaining a job, pay bills, put food on your table and live within your means to accumulate wealth to take care of yourself and your family, you're golden.
In terms of my IQ, I don't know and I don't care. Having a high IQ means nothing if you aren't doing something you enjoy. It's one thing to be deemed smart because of a number or being accepted into the MENSA, but can you also be smart and live a life you will be happy with and have little regret? Whenever I see these questions, it comes off as a flex attempt on others based on a number. Higher doesn't mean great.
I tested as gifted as a kid, meaning I scored in the 98% percentile on an i. q. test, but my I. q. dropped to normal levels when I got older. I still succeed because I’m very good at learning new skills. I was in the gifted program in elementary school, middle school and high school and I studied at the best university in the country and got straight A’s during my last 2.5 years. I also broke records by getting the highest grade ever recorded in some of my introductory classes in school. I once got the highest mark in the class, in every single class I was enrolled in one semester of school, but I would not say I’m intelligent. Just ambitious and committed.
Well I don't know I dont have like thoughts about it but I feel like people make it seem like more then it is and my IQ is 82

I don't believe a high IQ means your good at everything. For instance, my IQ is 163 but I suck at math and can't remember names or faces. However, I remember the lyrics to songs very well and can remember and list off facts like a Wikipedia page on topics I'm interested in. I'm always thinking about something too. Im good at reading maps and can get around without one very easily. Sometimes it's tough for me to fall asleep since my brain is always awake. I know I'm a smart person but a lot of the time I don't apply myself to tasks I don't like.
IQ is largely bogus and unscientific. EQ is a better measure. But there is no one "factor" which can define intelligence.
In fact if you look at a cross section of criminals. Most are "high IQ". Academically that could suggest it is a measure of criminal capability.I think it's flawed if you think in a different way. My thought process is not as linear as most peoples. Therefore I am liable to see the more complex before the simple. Therefore I feel that my especially high IQ is an inaccurate representation of my actual intelligence. I am smarter than an average person, because I tested well above the average range in every section. I don't think that anyone who takes a test made for their though processes will reach as high as 350 in any part and higher than 150 in almost every other part. My lowest score was in mathematics at 125. My highest was comprehension at 380. Again I consider the test flawed for someone like me. Although I was in the 98th percentile in that section of the ACT.
Couldn’t care less and I have no clue what my IQ is
I don't tell and I don't ask, but I estimate it in others.

Being smart and feeling insecure about it is normal.189 designed to assess intelligence
Just because you're smart doesn't mean you're wise.
