Women who smile are perceived as much more attractive, whereas men who don’t smile are perceived as more attractive than men who smile a lot. Agreed? (Page 2)
No you don’t “merely present it,” you ask a loaded question seeking affirmation and rejecting instantly anyone who doesn’t see it the way you want to present it. You’re guilty of your own accusations. Irony.
It’s pretty trivial as far as I’m concerned. You’re looking at it through a different lens - masculinity v femininity. Your idea of masculinity is more image than substance, but if that’s what you want to think I’m ok with that. A human smiling is far more appealing than one who is not. I’m not hung up on gender differences.
Approachable is not the same as attractive/appealing.
Maybe you’re confusing these.
There’s a certain look a masculine face can pull off with a more “cold steel” expression.
Not necessarily brooding, but more neutral.
Femininity gets a power boost by more smiles and joy.
It’s just fitting and characteristic of women’s facial features more so than men’s.
Personally, I’m more emotional than anything else I’ve come to realize over the years. Also, I like women who are all over the place so they don’t fit the stereotypes.
Despite this, there are still general facts about men and women.
I don’t smile but that’s usually because if I’m at work I have a ton of work to do. And if I’m outside and the sun is really shining I tend to have an angry look but it’s because my eyes are sensitive to sunlight. It may look like I’m pissed but I enjoy talking and joking around. I guess you can call it my resting Mitch face

What Girls & Guys Said
Opinion

I don't think that's true. I've always heard that guys are more attractive when they smile than when we're not smiling.
I'm pretty sure people are perceived as more attractive when smiling, regardless of gender.
Stoopid stereotypes...
i prefer to see men smile actualty
Agree. Yes!
Disagreed. I love seeing a smile on a guy.
Nope.
What “research”? And who even bothers to research something like this?
What do you mean who bothers?
It’s super interesting stuff.
A lot of fields, researchers, scientists, and more look into all sorts of stuff.
You can even find research saying how dolphins can be gay.
It’s science and humans are curious creatures.
And you gobble it all up as gospel lmao smh
Definitely not.
I merely present it
Actually, I’ve found a lot of people are quick to reject it like the plague and favor their personal beliefs/preferences.
Don’t you think?
No you don’t “merely present it,” you ask a loaded question seeking affirmation and rejecting instantly anyone who doesn’t see it the way you want to present it. You’re guilty of your own accusations. Irony.
I have my own opinion and I like arguing with those who have different ones.
What’s the issue?
No issue. You just don’t see the irony in your own statement.
If you want to dig in on smile research, go find out why grieving men smile more than grieving women.
Well, there’s one flaw you didn’t mention.
Nearly everything I’ve posted is based on articles, research, surveys, etc.
Not my mere opinions.
This exact question being a perfect example.
My opinions happen to be the same as these more formal info/sources.
If someone has links to stuff over their views I don’t counterattack with my own viewpoints
I usually will also use formal sources.
Everyone here is not doing that, just responding with their personal viewpoints
Some aren’t even doing that.
Some are like “bullshit!”
😶😑

Try that one out.
Also, a lot of this stuff seems common sense to me.
-A smiling woman seems more feminine than a non-smiling one right?
-A man who has some muscular seems more masculine than the same exact man without muscles, right?
Can you at least see the sense in this so that I can get a feel for where your headspace is?
If you can’t understand this then I can see where the issue is.

Did you even bother to read the link I sent you?
Oh, I didn’t even see that you sent one.
I’ll check it out now
No. People who smile are more attractive. Period.

Yes. I always notice the smile.
