Should we ban bananas to prevent monkeypox?

I don't think this solves the problem and we need to ban bananas. Monkeys eat bananas, Monkeys get monkeypox, we don't know how many bananas have been fondled by Monkey's. It's not worth the risk.
Everyone knows you can't take a banana on a boat so why are we risking them in out homes? Olden day sailors may have been riddled with scurvy and syphilis but not one had monkeypox.

So should bananas be banned and what would you suggest as a new name for monkeypox?

Funny thing is that if we banned everything people found offensive nothing would be left. Because people can be so damn sensitive these days. It's like people want to be offended just so someone pays attention to them. So I'm surprised their isn't a constant diaper shortage due to all the people crying about how offended they are.

People need to remember the truth about words. They only have as much power over you as you choose to give them. Also if you allow someone to offend you, you are giving them power over you. Simply because you have allowed their words to have power over you.

Why would ”monkeypox” be racist or discriminatory against Africa? Only way I can see someone seeing it as racist would be if they view Africans as monkeys, in which case… They kind of exposed themselves as racist.
