Monkeypox is being downplayed because it's almost all homosexuals who have it?

The official mortality rate of Monkeypox is 10%. So 10 out of 100 people who get it die from it. With COVID, 1% or less died in the U. S. In most countries it was 1.5% or less. And yet when COVID came a long the world went into lockdown & people were told to wear face masks and avoid interacting with anybody who had COVID. But with Monkeypox they say, no big deal. Don't stay home. Don't wear a mask (even tho it's airborne) and don't stop hosting parties full of infected people swapping body fluids. It's almost like if most of the diseased people vote blue, it's okay for them not to be treated like lepers.

Most Monkeypox carriers are homosexual. The gay community is a magnet for monkeypox and the number 1 place it's circulating like wildfire. It can easily spread to others from *talking* (airborne), hugging, even touching used clothes/towels. If the government treated Monkeypox the same as it did COVID it would have to say that homosexuals need to stop having sex to stop the spread and that you need to avoid any contact with homosexuals or their belongings. They'd have to say that you should wear a face mask when dealing with homosexuals. But we all know that's not gonna happen.

Not sure if it's related to homosexuals but this is usually how things go from the start just from seeing how things with covid played out. It's a small scale thing currently, it's also less transmittable, much more so than covid anyway, therefore nobody is even thinking about it. Part of it is probably because the world doesn't wanna stress over another pandemic when we just got over one, just another idea. Although that mortality rate is scary as hell to think about.. like that's very bad. Made me blink a bit. We can only hope they'll start thinking about it more, but if they don't it is what it is 🤷‍♂️

There’s a version of monkey pox that’s 10% mortality rate. Not this strain my long around though, I believe it’s like 1%. No one has died of it in the us. And very few (2last I saw) have died outside of Africa. Let’s research before we spread so much misinformation. It CAN be airborne but only from close face to face contact for at least 15 minutes. It’s not as transmissible mouth to nose as Coronavirus, so the same prophylactic measures aren’t needed for casual interactions. The WHO reports a lethality rate of 3-6%. It’s similar to smallpox and the smallpox vaccine is effective against monkeypox.

There's different degrees of airborne. This is probably the kind where a microscopic speck of saliva can give it to you but it's not going to float in the air for 10 feet. The official take on HIV was that you couldn't get it airborne even tho there were documented cases of people getting it from just having an open mouth near an infected person who was talking/breathing on them. But officially the CDC says monkeypox is airborne so *shrug*
