Mostly the "right" to free stuff - free abortions on demand, free birth control, and even free menstruation products. Women often think they are entitled to anything and everything they want - free.
That image shows a very late term fetus. No one is performing elective abortions of a healthy fetus anywhere near that late in pregnancy, and probably no one ever has. Why don’t you show an image of a 10-week fetus instead?
All of these are represented as fetal development at 14 weeks. So please tell me HOW that picture is misleading, because I try very hard to not misrepresent facts when I post on this site.
When I hear that term, all I see is a woman who’s a selfish, entitled, narcissistic piece of sh*t. And of course, conversely the guys who just couldn’t give a fck about anything.
The only right is for you to do the act if you find someone willing to do it with you. That's the basic, we should only extract from that in special cases where people are clearly unfit to breed.

The right to have kids or not have kids, the right to choose what happens with your body when it comes to reproduction. The right to have access to all kinds of birth control, and the right to abortion or carrying a fetus to full term.
"The right to have kids or not have kids" It is always your choice to engage or not engage in sex.
"the right to choose what happens with your body when it comes to reproduction." You mean the right to kill an unborn baby because it is inconenient for the woman?
"The right to have access to all kinds of birth control" Are you simply talking about access or "free" access?
"and the right to abortion or carrying a fetus to full term." What makes it a "right" other than your opinion?
@petitedollbabee No, rape is not common. Feminists attempted to redefine rape to include things such as a husband pestering wife for sex. That is not rape. The phrase "no means no and yes doesn't necessarily mean consent was given" is an absolute affront and our courts won't respect that either. Where are all these rape victims? I know of no women that have ever been raped. Not any of my female relatives, friends, or co-workers. Where is this 1 in 4? And don't claim "women lie about being raped". This is another dumb ploy. You can't prove women lie about rape. But then again I can't prove that they don't. Just a dumb way to shut people up.
In the past 3 years alone I’ve met two men and seven women who’ve been raped, and I have been a victim of rape myself. When I said common, I wasn’t basing it off statistics or whatever feminist bullshit you’re spouting, I was basing it off of my personal experience and the people who I have personally met. I’ve met more people who’ve been raped than people who have not. Maybe it’s just where I live, completely possibly that it’s more of an issue here than other countries, who knows?
Most sex is a choice.. Most people will never be raped in their lives and anecdotes are not exactly reliable.. As your situation is exceptional.. But also rape is less than 1% of abortions so that almost goes out of the window.. Also sorry for what you've been through..
"The pregnancy could end up killing the woman, yet you hold an unborn baby’s life over a woman’s?" Have you EVER heard anyone suggest that abortion should not be available to save the life of the mother? Of the millions of abortions performed every year, how many are perfromed for that reason?
"The woman could’ve been raped, yet that’s now her responsibility for the aftermath?" Most people agree that abortion should be available to women who have truly been the victim of a rape but, again, very few abortions are performed for that reason.
"The woman might not be financially stable, so you would rather have the baby and woman suffer in poverty?" No, she can place that baby for adoption.
"The baby could be severely disabled," and having a disabled baby is something that I don't want to do, so let's kill it.
"or die at birth, but you would rather a woman suffer through pregnancy?" Is THAT why most abortions are performed? Because the woman KNOWS that the baby is going to die in childbirth anyway?
"A baby is a commitment. The choice to commit to it should be valid." And you have birth control options available to you. That is your choice.
Ah yes. The rhetorical feint that supposedly rape is a massive concern, women are always paranoid and fearful of being raped every second of every day, and yet they're all anti gun, don't carry pepper spray, and don't bother with self defense classes.
They espouse rhetoric that suggests that they believe that rape is a common natural danger akin to bear attacks or hurricanes and yet their "solution", rather than to take precautions, is to chide men for not being feminist. And of course even though they're supposedly convinced that "rape is common" they will still go to night clubs where men are and go home with random strangers that they just met!
That's like saying that you're afraid of drowning and so the solution is that everybody on Earth must get lifeguard certified instead of you learning how to swim!
The reality is that women don't actually believe that "rape is common" or there's a "rape culture" or whatever. It's a feint. A ploy. A trick. "Rape culture" is just a phoney baloney talking point meant to give women a thin pretense to socially renegotiate her sex life after the deed is done. It's a way for women to absolve themselves of the responsibility and consequence of their decisions. It's a way form women to feign that they're innocent little virgins and that anything untoward that may have happened was definitely not their fault.
Though I'm wondering why even bother with the pretense in these degenerate times. Supposedly wanton promiscuous sex is a positive, so why bother lying about it?
As for actual rape or on the question of rape babies or whatever, yeah, I don't care. Criminals probably have bad genes, so yeah, go ahead and euthanize the baby, if you want.
I suppose a eugenics program would be anti feminist in your opinion?
@OlderAndWiser Good morning O&W, if I may jump in here…. “Have you EVER heard anyone suggest that abortion should not be available to save the life of the mother?” Yes. Here on G&G. Many times. “…abortion should be available to women who have truly been the victim of a rape…” What do you mean by “truly” raped? You want to dismiss discussion about abortion as the result is rape because “very few abortions are performed for that reason.” But if we do take about it, it’s very important to focus of if the women was “truly” raped because women lie about that all the time? 🤦🏻♀️ Do you think women lie about being raped more often than rape actually occurs? Kinda sounds like it. Carrying a pregnancy to term just to turn around and give it away isn’t nearly as easy as you like to pretend. Women who give birth only to give the baby away for a better life are hero's in my mind. I can’t even begin to imagine how difficult that would be. You speak about giving away a baby like you would your old car. And adoption doesn’t do a damn thing about the actual pregnancy and childbirth. Sometimes, that’s what she’s looking to avoid.
@OlderAndWiser Nobody should be forced to witness their child’s suffering if it can be prevented. Some disabilities bring obstacles to regular everyday life, but for the most part they can function in our world. However, when you are speaking about disabilities that completely prevent them from living a life without constant care, or a life full of pain and agony, then the parents should have the choice to bring that kind of need into their homes and their lives. We put animals to sleep, out of compassion, for less suffering sometimes. I agree with you that BC should be used if you don’t want a child. However, it’s not 100% effective, and accidents happen. I am done having children. My husband and I have taken steps to prevent more children. However, it’s not 100% guaranteed. What do you recommend? Should we be ready to accept a sexless marriage in our effort to not have more children? Would that be an acceptable solution for your life?
Most of your arguments is just that “it isn’t the reason most abortions happen”. They still happen, believe it or not! 🤯
And who are you to act like it’s just an inconvenience. Do you know how painful pregnancy actually is? Of course you don’t. Just because you don’t have to ever go through it, at least be aware on how much change would happen to a woman’s body and the amount of pain she would have to endure.
@OrallyFixated "Do you think women lie about being raped more often than rape actually occurs? Kinda sounds like it." No, I simply thing that false rape claims are not uncommon, and they may become even more common if that is ecessary to qualify someone for an abortion.
"Carrying a pregnancy to term just to turn around and give it away isn’t nearly as easy as you like to pretend." WHen did I "pretend" that it was easy. I only think that people should be responsible for the consequences of their actions. . . a novel concept in the current political climate.
"You speak about giving away a baby like you would your old car." You are accusing me of statements that I NEVER made! But I don't expect an apology.
"And adoption doesn’t do a damn thing about the actual pregnancy and childbirth. Sometimes, that’s what she’s looking to avoid." Right; "being pregnant isn't convenient so please kill my baby for me."
@OlderAndWiser False rape claims will definitely go up if it’s required in order to get an abortion. That’s a no brainer. But I don’t believe false allegations are as prevalent as you like to believe. And proving you have been raped isn’t an exact science either. What happens when we’re not sure? Force her to have the baby just in case she’s lying? If you’re a real victim, too bad, so sad? You stated “No, she can place that baby for adoption.” as a response to an economic concern. Simple, problem solved statement. As if giving away a family member is a simple solution. As a woman who has carried children to term and raised them, it is not a simple solution. For some, like myself, it would never even be a consideration. Oh, and abortion is taking responsibility. Just because you don’t like the choice that was made, it is at times, the responsible choice. So you’re right. I have no reason to apologize, so you won’t be getting one. Of course, any reason a woman might have for choosing abortion is going to be reduced to a mere inconvenience by someone who will never find themselves having to make that choice.
@OrallyFixated "But I don’t believe false allegations are as prevalent as you like to believe." Okay; since you know what I am thinking without me expressing any of that, tell me how prevalent I think they are.
@U4ea0 Technically if there married which is religious means that can't continue to deny their husband from sex. They may request and upon consent have a time of no sex, but this cannot continue unless it had consent from her husband... So legally, if religious views were accepted with the marriage I would think that they have no argument. It also says a women must submit to her husband... I mean its pretty screwed up that they decide to pick and choose what they claim and what law is decided to be a crime. Why is adultery a crime but denying sex is? The denying led to the adultery but that apparently isn't a defense. What it comes down to is women think they should have control over men instead of being responsible...
@OlderAndWiser You believe it prevalent enough the ensure you state that only the “truly” raped females get abortions. This isn’t a matter of me saying “you believe X, so you must believe Y,” which I see around here all the time. I am literally going by the words you are posting. Your word choices betray what you are thinking. I’m not the one telling you what you think. You are the one telling me. You just don’t like the way it sounds when looked at from a different POV. That’s not my fault.
@SushiSxnpai Besides rape and safety to maintain life of female, the solution to all your what if are this, DONT have sex. If you can't or dont want to chance the consequence then dont engage in an act to which its has been biologically designed to reproduce. You dont need sex to live, sex is to reproduce. I seriously dont understand how society has somehow forgot this part. We eat, drink water to grow, sleep to recharge, learn by watching others and develop problem solving capabilities, we wash to keep from our bodies clean, and sex is to reproduce... Are there any other animals on Earth which have sex other than to reproduce? Can they just be crap I didn't want to this baby and get it scraped out?
Birth control ok, even the morning after pill ill say is acceptable, but abortion on demand is more so means that is creating lack of responsibility. If this is one of the most important life changing experiences a woman and man can have, then why is taken so lightly, why should an oops I dont like the outcome solution be on demand? I dont get a choice on whether she carries life I helped create, I dont have a choice whether or not I want to support the child once its born if in didn't want her to carry, I dont have that choice if I decide to commit a crime, make a bad financial choice, or any choice for that matter of oops I dont like the outcome let me void being responsible of the consequences.
Once the baby is conceived, reproduction has taken place. Carrying the baby is no longer in reproducing, its now in development. The baby is not your body, your body is now a vessel for another life form, think of it like the baby is a renter and you can't just evict them because thats what you want, they have the right to lease that space till it decides to vacate unless health concerns occur.
@OlderAndWiser I already answered that question. “You believe it prevalent enough the ensure you state that only the “truly” raped females get abortions.”
Oral Contraceptives are going to be very hard to get in a few months. The FDA has already issued new prescribing guidelines. Insurance isn't required to cover them soon. $700 a month.
@OlderAndWiser Absolutely not! That would be a disaster. You know how many patients insist that I write them a prescription for a problem they don't even have? Prescription drugs need to have physician supervision. Even oral contraceptives need some supervision. The long term effects of hormonal birth control can be pretty bad. It is well known in the medical community that these drugs increase a woman's risk of developing certain types of cancer to the same level as a heavy smoker. Few women know this.
Is there somewhere in the US that women don't have birth control options available to them? That stuff is available through my county health department.
There are just those type of people who wants abortion for free and there are just those who wishes for it to be just legal no matter how much it costs but after all it's the guy paying for it. Diverse people, diverse answers.

Personally my usage of the term is more to do with the CCP as well as the left wing governments they backed into power operating a restrictive system of eugenics to in only allow certain people to breed and in certain numbers
Personally no, to me it means abortion is legalized, and accessible, (most counties in a state having a provider), and done till at least 20-24 weeks, none of that '15' week nonsense if I wanted that I would move to Saudi Arabia.
Home > Society & Politics > Questions > When YOU talk about "reproductive rights," to what are you referring? Does it mean anything more than having abortion available on demand?

Having the power to build muscle is a Right. All these other things we call Rights are just Privileges that can be taken away at any moment.
I don't usually talk about "reproductive rights".
"Rights" are very different from "preferences" and simple "choices".
Mostly the "right" to free stuff - free abortions on demand, free birth control, and even free menstruation products. Women often think they are entitled to anything and everything they want - free.
It’s far more than about abortion

That image shows a very late term fetus. No one is performing elective abortions of a healthy fetus anywhere near that late in pregnancy, and probably no one ever has. Why don’t you show an image of a 10-week fetus instead?
Wrong. That image is identified on the source as a 14 week baby in uterus.
www.babycenter.com/.../14-weeks-pregnant
I don't care what it's identified as. It's a drawing designed to elicit an emotional response.
It is an accurate depiction. It SHOULD elicit an emotion response!
It's unrealistic.
HOW is it unrealistic?
All of these are represented as fetal development at 14 weeks. So please tell me HOW that picture is misleading, because I try very hard to not misrepresent facts when I post on this site.

I don’t use that term because people will try to SKU your message
Aside from abortion, I mean easy access to contraception, revocation of sodomy laws and so on
How exactly do government officials inspect or demonstrate violations of sodomy laws?
"easy access to contraception" Does that mean free to the consumer, paid for by taxpayers?
No idea. The fact they exist at all and can be enforced, ticks me off.
No. It means no laws restricting who can buy it or be prescribed it. Nothing is ever actually free and I don't support anything being free.
That strikes me as a law they passed on a slow legislative session that there is no real way to inspect or enforce. How is it supposed to be enforced?
Hell if I know. The fact their puritanical asses even passed it pisses me off.
I’m surprised that an enterprising up-and-coming politician hasn’t wage war against it to score points
Probably because it doesn't really affect anyone. So what points you'd get from it would be minor at best.
I mean, who the hell cares what position you have sex with your spouse in? Or if the lights are on or off?
You’ve never worked in government have you? Careers are made by changing a line in a government handbook.
Nope, thank god. I have self respect lol

The pregnancy could end up killing the woman, yet you hold an unborn baby’s life over a woman’s?
The woman could’ve been raped, yet that’s now her responsibility for the aftermath?
The woman might not be financially stable, so you would rather have the baby and woman suffer in poverty?

I agree with you that BC should be used if you don’t want a child. However, it’s not 100% effective, and accidents happen. I am done having children. My husband and I have taken steps to prevent more children. However, it’s not 100% guaranteed.

@SushiSxnpai Besides rape and safety to maintain life of female, the solution to all your what if are this, DONT have sex. @kmg9150 I agree with parts of that, though in the event of an unwanted pregnancy, the decision is ultimately the woman’s.
@OrallyFixated since you know what I am thinking without me expressing any of that, tell me how prevalent I think they are.
@OlderAndWiser
I already answered that question. “You believe it prevalent enough the ensure you state that only the “truly” raped females get abortions.”
It's not something I talk about. As far as I know I don't have any.
I believe birth control should be sold over the counter and be available by delivery to women's homes.
Oral Contraceptives are going to be very hard to get in a few months. The FDA has already issued new prescribing guidelines. Insurance isn't required to cover them soon. $700 a month.
Yeah I can't take them , but I know a lot of people that do that sucks.

@U4ea0 Yes, I agree absolutely. The question was actually directed at @endlessvoid20
@OlderAndWiser My mistake...
@U4ea0 I have made that same mistake many times!
That it tkes two of the opposite gender to reproduce, so why don't the dads-to-be have a say in the life of the baby?
Personally when I talk about it I don’t just mean women should have access to abortions but also birth control options and things like that
Is there somewhere in the US that women don't have birth control options available to them? That stuff is available through my county health department.
no that’s all available but im saying when I have convo’s with people about it I feel like all of that ties into reproductive rights as a whole
There are just those type of people who wants abortion for free and there are just those who wishes for it to be just legal no matter how much it costs but after all it's the guy paying for it. Diverse people, diverse answers.
For me it’s access to abortion, contraceptives, sex education, bodily autonomy, and access to infertility like vasectomies
Maybe both Females and Males can discuss Reproductive Rights and agree on some things concerning it.
Personally my usage of the term is more to do with the CCP as well as the left wing governments they backed into power operating a restrictive system of eugenics to in only allow certain people to breed and in certain numbers
It means a woman had the right to do what she wants with her body.
What about her baby's body?
You asked a question. I gave my opinion.
@OlderAndWiser I take it as the life created should be protected, because that is not her body.
. . . and her baby's body?
Personally no, to me it means abortion is legalized, and accessible, (most counties in a state having a provider), and done till at least 20-24 weeks, none of that '15' week nonsense if I wanted that I would move to Saudi Arabia.
