Don’t get me wrong birth-control has been a thing for thousands of years. However when it comes to pregnancy prevention the majority of the responsibility has been placed on to women. The problem that I have with this is that it makes a lot more sense to, for lack of a better term, take the bullets out of a gun as opposed to wearing a bulletproof vest and hoping for the best. So why is it that the overwhelming majority of responsibility for pregnancy prevention is placed on the women as opposed to men that get women pregnant in the first place?

I think a condom would be the best example of male birth control, but some men say they don’t want to use it as a birth control because it ruins the sensation. Frankly that’s a sad excuse for not trying to do his bit. If you don’t want to lose sensation, you can simply have fun some other way involving a lady friend that doesn’t lead to pregnancy.
To be honest, even if there were a pill for men to take that would limit pregnancy, some men might complain that even that ruins the sensation. Some women don’t want to take birth control as well, but if pregnancy is not the desired outcome at least one of the partners should be taking their form of birth control.

On a little side note, my family is more on the conservative side and for conservatives there is something called natural family planning that involves measuring the temperature of the woman’s vagina daily to track the cycle of the egg and see when it is safe to have sex without needing birth control. Even in this method, the woman would be required to take most of the efforts, unless she would be comfortable with her guy sticking a thermometer in her vagina daily. 🤔 Side note over.

I know there’s testing going on for a male pill and also some kind of gel that is inserted into the vas deferens to block sperm. But right now, there’s vasectomy, which is only good if you don’t ever want children or you are done having children because reversal is risky and doesn’t always work. There’s also condoms, but I’ve heard that people complain they take away sensation (I never really noticed that or cared), and there’s also spermicide creams and gels like Nonoxynol 9, but I think that’s been linked to increased risk of vaginal lesions and cervical cancer in women.

Effective chemical compounds have already been developed. The major hurdle for chemical/hormonal birth control for men is the fact that they produce sperm constantly, and a lot of it. The “once daily” methods like pills don’t seem to have a strong enough effect for long enough to produce reliable results. I believe other delivery methods being researched include patches and the like. Supposedly these things will be available soon, but they’ve been saying that for years now.
In the end, no birth control method is more effective than abstinence. If y’all, boys and girls both, would quit whoring around like rutting animals, there’d be damn near 100% fewer unplanned, unwanted pregnancies. It’s REALLY easy to do, and it doesn’t cost a thing even if you don’t have insurance. You don’t have to consult a doctor, get anyone’s permission or sneak around to do it. Because, for the moment, it can only be done on women. You say it is like "taking out the bullets of the gun", but then the gun itself is useless. And, unlike with a gun, you can't put the bullets back in whenever you want.

In any case, already 3 methods for women have been mentioned, 2 of which, because they require "Surgical placement", are already off the table. That leaves us with one. How many are available for men? One, a vasectomy, which cannot be an option since you would not count the female version of it (I forgot the name, sorry about that). That leaves us as we were, with the regular contraceptives.
Is it fair? No, it isn't. Not at all. But there isn't a male version of those, that we can simply take one pill a day, and, when we do want a kid, just stop taking it. Such a convenient thing does not exist for now. If there were, you would have a point.
Do you want another birth control method? This one does actually works for both women and men: don't have sex.

Hmm... well, if I had to guess, I would say it's because women have so much greater a role to play in the creation of the child; you all ultimately have way more control over the child because you're the ones who spend the greatest amount of time with the child. Like of course it makes sense for men to wear condoms and generally make sure that their semen doesn't enter women's bodies, but at the end of the day, our role in the process is 5-10 minutes long, whereas your role is 9 months long. We effectively lose any say and power after that 10 minutes.

the big issue is that the male reproductive is a very simple system, therefore it is hard to derail it, while a women's reproductive system is very complicated, so it is much easier to disrupt it.

first of all, this is not my point...

these are the conclusions of the studies that so far have failed in the development of previous forms for male birth control

and, to the actual point... yes, both male and females have hormonal cycles but they certainly do not happen in the same way at all, females do have ovulation, which is one egg every month or so... while males do not have a monthly cycle, but a DAILY production of sperm cells so, yes, it is all hormones based but they work completely different

and this is what so far, has made it more way more challenging for whoever is trying to figure out how to make it work in a better way, they cannot just simply "copy-paste" the female BC and then adjust it as a male version, of course not... we do not ovulate

so, the two bigger problems for these previous developments (according to these studies) is the dosage, the dosage needed to effectively kill or render useless all the sperm that are produced daily by males but, without causing long lasting or long term negative effects in fertility or problems of a different kind, and also the fact that variation in dosage seems to be causing different of the other "annoying" side effects these can cause in men, which I think included punching walls out of sheer irritability

way too many men said "forget the paycheck, I'm out" which of course, for the companies involved on making this happen is a big NO WAY JOSE, we will not be able to sell these male birth control pills (or injections)

Female hormonal birth control works similarly, it doesn't kill the egg, it just tricks the body into thinking it's already pregnant so the ovaries do not release an egg. Other forms of female birth control prevent the egg, weather it is fertilized or not from being able to implant into the uterine lining.
