In countries with mandatory military training or military service like Singapore is it right that it is normally only mandatory for guys?

TLDR I think anybody should be able to volunteer I do not think anybody should be drafted.

The long version is, I do not think it should be mandatory for anybody, if there is something important enough where everybody agrees it is worth fighting for then there will be lots of volunteers. If it's not that important then it is not worth drafting anybody. Having said that, in a war not everybody is in combat, you also need for example to make airplanes or tanks for them, and other equipment they need, plus all the normal non war stuff to keep the country working so it does not make sense to have literally everybody fighting in the war and given that, who is going to be better overall at fighting males or females? If it is volunteers then anybody who feels like they can do it well can volunteer whether male or female but if it is a draft, how do you word it so only the females who could be good at fighting would get drafted, I don't think you can so I don't think females should be drafted, it would be subtraction by addition. That is just my opinion!

I'm not educated on the cultures of other countries so I can't and will not say if its "right" for that country to mandate military service from certain people.

Definitely think more women should serve. The leadership and selflessness definition looks good on them. And if a country is mandatory than it should be equal.

It never hurts to learn how to defend yourself at the very least. Especially if fit and able.
