Some people are GaG famous like @RolandCuthbert and he brings content to the platform, should he have to pay for his Blue Check?

What incentive do people have to build and support platforms like Twitter? I think only people spend money are people who have money 😳

Don't be daft, ignorant and pretentious. A lot of the soup you get served in swanky places IS mostly canned - it's not fresh made. They just heat and garnish before serving, before charging you a heavy markup for the "privilege"

As for the Twitter shit, it's simply a case of charging a Netflix price for FOX news level entertainment. Of course Twitter has long been known to be losing money. But the problem never was content, it was monetizing it.

Already we see Elon going down the Enron route with Twitter, in slashing costs, cutting staff and charging prices for nothing much. But this might be what catches ol'Elon out in the end and knocks him down a peg.

Twitter is a public platform, they don't produce and therefore do not own most of their content, they simply distribute.
If they charge at all it would be for that distribution or for additional distribution (known as advertising) that they might send along with the product.
