Why are people against abuse and school bullying only when their child is the victim?

Anonymous

As soon as someone harms your child, all of the sudden people create a campaign to help others, all of the sudden you care about others. If their child was doing well and happy, they would likely be either bystanders or not put too much emphasize on it.

How about just helping others and promoting a campaign against abuse or bullying because it's the right thing to do, not because it took your child being the victim to be proactive about the matter.

Why should it take your child getting harmed to do the right thing? To care for others?
