They are seriously one of the dumbest things ever invented. They do nothing to deter people from speeding. All they do is damage your vehicle.
Does anyone else hate speed bumps with a fiery passion?

Goodness, yes. You want people to limit their speed to a certain level? Okay; that's reasonable. Why not declare a "speed limit", and then enforce the damn thing? Station a couple of officers on a typical highway (not an Interstate; those are federal enforcement zones) and ticket everyone going over the limit; you could pay the whole department's annual budget in a month. But no. Instead we have "Speed Limit [but not really] 55" or 65 or whatever it is, and instead they slap down car-destroying mounds everywhere. That contributed to my last car kicking the bucket and me winding up homeless, since for some reason parts of Florida insist on putting them every hundred yards for stretches of over a mile in some cases.
It ain't like they're car-safe if you do the limit; you either slow to crawl or accept suspension (and eventually frame) damage. Enforce the law or drop it; these half-measures punish innocent people.
If people would obey speed laws in residential neighborhoods and rules in parking lots, there would not be need for any. They are in y neighborhood (and I supported them) because cars often went down my street at 60 mph. Even school buses at 40.
Speed bumps don’t prevent that. That’s what you’re not getting.
I like them but they are generally only in very specific places for safety reasons, like parking lots where people walk a lot.
If they damage your vehicle your going too fast... here they aren't legally allowed on any city streets, only can be on private property.
I think the damaging your vehicle is the deterrent for speeding.
But yeah they are annoying especially the poorly made ones that no matter how slow you go it feels like you damaged something
Their fun to hit on a motorcycle, I can jump over them.
@Aerissa_Jade oh lawd🤣

No, I don't hate them. They're only going to cause damage to your car if you're whipping over them too fast, which you probably shouldn't be doing anyways in areas where speed bumps are typically located.
Honestly, the bump is fine. Reminder not to go too fast a kid might be running in the parking lot.
I HATE with a fiery vengeance the people who slow to a crawl for some ungodly reason when going over one. It’s actually easier on you and the car to go a bit faster over a speed bump.
If people wouldn’t zip through areas where they need to slow down, they wouldn’t be necessary so they serve a purpose.
Funny how there's always money to build bumps but never to fill potholes
They are perfect for reducing speed on residential streets. I wish we had them on my block. They only damage your vehicle if you are too stupid to slow down. Are you?
I am just used to them... they're everywhere on Mexico
I actually feel a bit weird when I see none... like it is some sort of bizarre world
Yes, they are a pian in the ass but at times necessary.
Some people drive too fast in certain residential areas and a speed bump helps with that. On the road in front of my place there are 4 speed bumps and this helps a lot.
God yes, but nowhere near as much as I LOATHE roundabouts!
@cassie88 you’ll have to excuse him. He’s 100 years old. He doesn’t know his ass from last Tuesday.
The sunken ones definitely deter speeding and will really mess up your vehicle if you hit them too quickly. Obviously, you're going too fast in the areas they have them or you wouldn't be so pissed off. LOL
Speed bumps are a good way to fire up fucktards who can't read signs.
I live by own rules ass clown
My**
No. It’s fun to drive over it with higher speed…it’s like a mini roller coaster 👍😂
Nah man, my almost 300,000, 2012 Mazda would break apart...
Well if someone’s too much of a jerk to slow down in the places they should be, they deserve the extra damage that comes with speed bumps
I hate when the person I am riding with does, so tries to take them at 60+MPH>
I'm not a fan. They probably kill more people than they save.
Hate them when I am driving, love them when I am walking or riding a bicycle.
I used to enjoy them when I had a Pathfinnder.
Only when I don't see them.😆😆😆
