Would you hire a female bodyguard?

Question

Female bodyguards are more in demand nowadays for a variety of reasons - they are seen as better suited to protect women and children; and some male clients prefer to have a beautiful company rather than an intimidating gorilla.

Both Meghan and Kate have female bodyguards, and ex-model Anna Loginova worked as a Tarantino-esque bodyguard before losing her life on the job.

The only instances of female bodyguards I have seen in my life are two - once I visited a man who had this beautiful woman just sort of hanging around and sunbathing in his garden while we ate lunch - found out later that she wasn't just paid eye candy but a trained bodyguard - and in an unofficial way, the female deputy police chief is one for me and my family - she carries even off-duty and sometimes she hangs out with me or my wife.

I'd only do it if she can play both sides of the coin. Be the innocent black widow when she needs to do it for my safety and her way to get the leg up and be able to be reeled in if she's going too far. But I'd rather have a female bodyguard that can blend in with the crowd rather than one that does the sterotypical bodyguard work. I wouldn't care if she wears the fancy dresses either if thats what it takes to blend in and do her job right then have at it. Especially if I found a woman with the right skills that could pass as my girlfriend or wife's double even better XD. Can play all those for fools should my wife or girlfriend end up the mischievous type. I've always been one to like and enjoy the idea of having something hidden in plain sight.

I think a woman bodyguard would be worth trying out. Realistically, it would come down to vigilance and being able to shoot. I'm not really much afraid If someone going to hands with me.

But if they pulled out a knife or a gun, it would be nice to have a couple people on my side ready at any moment

I wouldn't. Women are more suseptable to stress and are quite weaker than men, usually shorter too. The police training stats show that even the best women scores don't compare to worst mens acceptable scores. I would rather get a male body guard for my safety

Yup. Don't know why I would nee done but knowing it's a woman and the simple stranger wouldn't know why this lady is following me is fun. And if anyone wanna make a move on me, she can take care of them easily. Love it.

Sure. My favorite police officer I've ever worked with was a 5' tall female. We were keeping a patient inside the front door to the hospital who was a flight risk, he grabbed my arm and bit it then pushed me off balance, and she wrestling speared him back into his wheelchair that he obviously didn't need. I never did catch her name but it was glorious. I'd hire her as a bodyguard without question.

I think society should normalize women being in careers like this, they’re more than capable… both the CIA and Mossad have women as intelligence field operators, trained by and with the BEST military/government operators in the world… that includes Delta/SOCOM and Other top tier units. Once their done with their governmental jobs they usually go into Defense contractor jobs or bodyguard contracts. Anyone that thinks “oh well it’s not a man soo… they’re not capable… “ is a moron.

If I get to the point I need a bodyguard I’ve fucked up bigtime. I do want success, but only so I can disappear. Fame sounds like a nightmare to me

But no, I wouldn’t. The point is to have a physical deterrent without violence, nobody is intimidated by a woman

I think women might have an advantage in some scenarios, because a lot of men don't hit women. That being said, I wouldn't go out of my way to find a female bodyguard for obvious reasons, but if one happened to fit my needs, I wouldn't be opposed to it either.

Absolutely not. She would be a fine bodyguard I’m sure but then, after some time passes, she would get feelings for me, I’m sure. Then I would have to find another female bodyguard but then my former bodyguard would get jealous about the new female bodyguard and then they might have a fight…..

On second thought, a female bodyguard might be a perfect idea.

Khaddaffi had an all-female bodyguard unit. This seems situational, but a large man is more intimidating, therefore is likely to reduce threats by his mere pressence.

I'd hope I'll never need a bodyguard in my life. But if I'm that desperate, I'd hire whoever is capable of guarding my body. Just like men, some women make good bodyguards, while others don't

Having a big guy in a suit around makes people uncomfortable. I'm one, so I know. Having a lady around softens the situation and makes you look better. So, if safety is a small concern and not a huge risk, just one female bodyguard sounds fine.

As an employer my instinct would be to look at their experience and work history. It ain’t like the movies. “Bodyguards” aren’t waving guns and chasing bad guys. They’re managing your bouncers, your getaway car, secondary exits, signs of rioting…etc.
