So I have a friend who constantly complains about living in America (we are Americans) and how much she wants to leave, yet she celebrated the 4th of July last night with fireworks and all. Why? Is she a hypocrite? I don't understand her thinking.

I don't know, she complains every single day. sure people can complain, but the amount of times she complains constantly, it starts to get to you.

Sounds like my brother's in law. They don't believe in God or Christmas. They go out of their way to tell everyone how dumb they are to celebrate the birth of someone that never existed but they have no problem cashing checks and asking for gifts. In case you're wondering, no, I do not get them anything. I also tell my wife she proves their point about how dumb people are when she gives them gifts and money. Also, they don't get people anything.

You’re a17 year old kid. What the hell do you know? You don’t even pay your own rent. Have you ever even left America before and traveled overseas? I’ve been to four continents and lived in Europe and the Middle East. Let me tell you something kid, this is the greatest nation on the planet. You can worship whatever God you want. Criticize whatever politician you want. And own a firearm to protect yourself.

You can’t do those things in many, many , many countries.

Thailand has a king. A literal king. And it’s a crime to insult the royal family. They will literally throw your ass in jail for the crime of expressing yourself.

Maybe that’s how YOU’D like to live. If so, I urge you to leave America. We don’t need people here who hate it. If you don’t like the party, the drinks, or the food no one is keeping you from leaving. Unlike China. Or North Korea. Or even Ukraine. You know, those countries where they don’t allow people to leave freely.
