Kids aren't afraid to scream anymore.. (ages 10 to 16) True or false?

Question

When I was a kid, if we screamed, we would get looked at like something terrible was happening to us.. OR we would get beat for screaming, to give us something to scream for!! 😳
NOW, kids feel so safe, that they can get away with doing this on a regular basis, people may look, but we don't react so much now, is this because they feel so much safer?
What they don't seem to understand is, that they are more at risk now, than we ever were? 🤔🤦🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️

This is certainly a thing with school children, its a game for the bad ones, they know that they can literally do anything they want and they are untouchable but if they can bait any kind of responce it becomes a nightmare for the person, they will be investigated etc.

But generally speaking i tend to have more of a problem with parents than children, for example in a supermarket, some parents are hounding their children over nothing desperately socially signalling that they are making sure that their children aren't bothering other people not realising that they are the ones interfering with my calm.

I think a helpful rule of thumb would be do the opposite of whatever you are doing right now so if you are one of these people who is hounding your kids just shut the fuck up and if you are quite and your kid is the one making noise, beat the shit out of them right there in front of everyone.

There used to be a really helpful parent training video on tv but I don't watch tv anymore so i don't know if they still run it or not. It was promoted by childline or something and they used to say that their children had learned that no one came to help them no matter whether they cried or not so now they are just quiet all the time..

I've been wondering for years "where are your parents?" To these kids because they are so damn obnoxious to everyone around them. I think it was my generation (the 16 and pregnant millennial generation) that stopped actually parenting, because they would throw the child to their parents because they wanted to party and had to go to school. When they got annoyed with raising their kid they would give them the phone with YouTube on or some basic phone game. Seriously, glad i wasn't in that group of my generation =_=. If i did have a kid they would be raised on nature, exercise, oldies music from the 50s-2000s, and videogames... maybe even some d&d (it's good for kids output of imagination and learning/retaining math. But yes i would repremand and show them their are consequences to ones actions. You can't send a kid into the world not realizing that at a young age.

They definitely feel safer. I was raised in a household where showing any negative emotion was a no no. Had to be happy or neutral. Anger or sadness equaled punishment. That normalized way of parenting led to me bottling up emotions, being very non confrontational, not speaking up for myself when I was being mistreated cause I didn’t want to upset authority figures (any adult), and not being able to self regulate my emotions in a healthy manner (ended up self soothing a dysregulated nervous system with alcohol and drugs later on). I don’t blame my mom though, shitty parenting was glorified and she was raised by a more broken generation than her. People might think parenting now is soft and discipline doesn’t exist but that’s just them having abusive parenting embedded in their brains. Happy the worlds healing. I also think about how kids stay in more often now too. It’s seen as a negative cause of electronics but I think back to my childhood and I was outside as much as possible regardless of weather along with all the other kids that lived near me but we all didn’t have good home lives. Are kids staying in now cause they actually enjoy being around their parents? Who knows😂

As they shouldn't. It's quite the nuisance, but I'm going to assume humanistic approach on this one since I ain't having any — might as well be kind.

I used to gag myself so people around couldn't hear my sobs and screams and tears, if that makes sense. My brother? Well, he's certainly big on expressing. I love that. I never have to guess if he's upset, he lets it show.

I'm 22 and you'd see me throwing a fit because as a child I didn't. I'd be bullied less if I were more open, more vulnerable, loud.

Too many teachers are just waiting to see a bruise on a child so they can report the parents for child abuse. Even if they say or actually fell off their bike.
The flip side of this is parents are waiting for their child to come home and say that their teacher hit them.
As an adult. You can’t go to a doctor or hospital without being examined for bruises. I know that it is to protect the hospital. So they say!
In my school years. If you did something and got paddled in school. You got a worse one when your parents found out!
Now a days. You are damned if you do and damned if you don’t! Correct your child. That is.

A couple weeks ago I'm in my kitchen and I hear two kids screaming blood in murder outside I go flying outside and they're just on their bicycles having fun I guess screaming just to do it I don't know

My parents would have looked at me like... wth is wrong with you, if I screamed like some kids these days.

I find it kind of irritating if they are just doing it to be heard. If it's at the park or on a ride no big deal.

I think I get what your saying, kids are less disciplined these days. BUT it’s also good that kids are screaming now and using their voices more in situations they need to. I think it’s great how these days, kids are being taught to not be afraid to stand up for themselves if they see threatening behaviours in adults (like paedophiles for example) awareness is being spread on weirdos and calling out gross behaviour is being more normalised

Kids SHOULDN'T be afraid to scream. Because screaming could save their life! And/or keep them from getting molested.

The problem becomes when poorly disciplined children feel the need to throw temper tantrums and scream for no reason whatsoever. This puts all of the other kids at risk, because it trains the general public to ignore screams, because they have become commonplace. So this now turns into a Boy Who Cried Wolf situation.

I grew up in a screaming household. EVERYBODY DID! I thought EVERY household did it! Perhaps, it's our hot-blood! Pity our neighbors!  As an adult, I'm a bit better, but many people don't get it.
