Is it an unpopular take to refuse to take a side in this Israel-Hamas war and believe that America should just stay completely out of it?

As an American, I'm honestly sick and fucking tired of both political sides wasting my tax dollars on stupid shit that I've never voted for in the first place (the left squandering tax dollars on Ukraine, while the right squanders tax dollars on Israel).

I'm no fan of Hamas or Palestine by any means but wtf has Israel ever done for the American taxpayers who have been funding them for a while now? Arms dealing doesn't count because that only ever benefitted American career politicians and the military-industrial complex, not the American taxpayers themselves.

i think you can take a side in this but still not want your country to be involved - but i mean america has been funding israel for years now so they're invested in it now and funding weapons for more power in the middle east, i'm from the uk who fucked everything up in the first place and we're also sadly on israel's side - i think the international community, bodies like the UN, should be way more useful in policing war and human rights abuses, of course this will never happen as long as the same countries have the same amount of power, and countries should only provide humanitarian aid, unless they're actually willing to send troops and fuck everything up stop sending weapons

It's going to be tough for the U. S. to stay out of it because I believe Israel is the closest ally to the U. S from the middle east region. I don't think they should just show blind support though, to any ally, their should be conditions on any financial support they provide.

Sadly, yes, but it's a very reasonable response. Political polarization has gotten truly awful these days.
