It's already been three years since Donald Trump insurrected his supporters to commit a domestic terrorist attack against the U. S. Capitol. While the death count was significantly lower than the September 11th, 2001 Terrorist Attacks at the World Trade Center, I find it even more disturbing that our own country attacked our own country.
Contrary to some myths, it was not a protest. There may have been protests down there going on that day, but the terrorist attack was not a protest.
No. The two things are not equivalent. While Jan/6 was an embarrassment as a nation and horrible event it simply cannot compare with the deaths of thousands on 9/11. These were thousands of people - many of whom had time to understand they would die and say their goodbyes by phone, text, and voicemails - who were not participants in anything except their daily lives.
Jan/6 was criminal but lacked the consequence of launching wars around the globe, the resulting death of tens of thousands, an incalculable amount of national treasure expended, and spanned the political spectrum.
Jan/6 was a horrible event but many factors play into it and among them was a lack of tactical & strategic preparation which I think we will never see again.
Terrorism is the use of force or violence against persons or property in violation of the criminal laws of the United States for purposes of intimidation, coercion, or ransom. The Jan 6 attacks definitely used violence against both persons and property. It was committed by people who believed the lies that Trump and his accomplices spread saying that he had actually won the election and fraud was used to make it look like Biden had won. All of his lies have been proven false, and many of his accomplices have admitted that they lied, and many have gone to prison for it.
I find the current comments hilarious. It is funny how these nut jobs that support that criminal can't even agree on one conspiracy theory.

Deep down, I suspect they are so embarrassed that they are grasping at straws at this point just to deflect blame because how could someone under almost 100 charges of crime not be perfect?
It’s strange why Nancy Pelosi never protected the capital with the National Guard. It’s almost like she wanted this to happen.

By people respecting the constitution and understanding the big picture, absolutely. 9/11 was a horrific terror attack that killed thousands of people in New York. Jan 6th. - if successful - would have killed the very foundation of the whole country.
It was a riot. Not even as bad as the BLM riots were the previous year in DC. But because they went into the Cathedral of the Feds, it is now the worst thing ever. Only come to find out that they with held evidence in trials of the protestors to keep them in jail indefinitely.
It was an inside job, the cops opened the door for the protestors and aside from some minor vandalism the only person who was killed was an unarmed woman shot by capital police. That you fucking shit leftards compare this to 9/11 with thousands dead and billions in damage shows that your side being in power is an existential threat to this country.
01/06/21 was planned as a peaceful protest that got out of hand. One person unfortunately died.
09/11/01 was a planned terrorist attack planned to kill thousands, and it did.
