I was going back and forth of America and Korea while I was studying abroad and I noticed that some news I saw in Korea was not aired in America. It was a news that the most expensive satellite explosion. American media was hiding it. I mean it happens in Korea too. Korean government controls media and they don’t make people to know a lot. I guess that’s why Americans look dumb from other country. Media is controlled and people don’t know the truth. Right now I am in Canada and I learn a lot about American history that was not taught in America. There was a war between Canada and USA in 1800s. America wanted make Canada as a colony and they invaded Toronto but the Canada strike back and they drove Americans all the way down to Washington DC. and Canadians burnt the White House down lol. And after that Americans painted the house white to hide the burn marks. Isn’t that funny? I have never learned about it in American history class while I was studying in USA. What do you think?
For elites it's always a compromise. Dumbasses are easier to reign with simple divide et impera tactics, on the other hand with dumbasses is only slow technical progress possible. That's why western elites had the plan of "brain trust" few decades ago. Their plan was to keep their own people dumb as possible while giving specialized education to small promising groups and importing elites from abroad while baiting creative people with life quality in western societies. It worked longer than two decades but rash information transfer, raise of China and desire of 'social industry' for more uneducated illegals destroyed this mechanic.
Now the western very selective education system still produces bunch of indoctrinated and polarized people, but struggles in matter of innovation, creative thinking and motivation to stand out from the mass. Of course this state is reversible but it takes a while, because dumbasses produced in last decades have still most steering rudders in their incompetent hands.

I certainly learnt how the white house became white in my high school history except it was the British burning the white house not the Canadians. HS history is more of a broad scan I think. France and Spain declaring war on Britain wouldn't get a mention in most accounts of the American War of Independence. Nor would the population of the American colonies being 2 million compared to Britain's 6 million.
My point is that a lot of history in the public sphere is quite cursory and lacking detail. The broad thrust is about right but the minutia might be lacking.
What was the satellite explosion? North Korea's satellite explosion? I didn't see anything on the news and it took a bit of googling.
Rothschild said when he bought America a century ago that he wanted a nation of workers, not thinkers.
The result is the modern USA. Propaganda for a century telling them they're the greatest but not giving the people the tools to back it up.
The "No Child Left Behind" program doesn't promote the best and brightest. It punishes them by dragging everyone down to the lowest level. There's nothing wrong with an educational system that rewards innovation and inquiry. It's what produced Alexander Fleming, Nicola Tesla, Alexander Graham Bell, Isambard Kingdom Brunel, and a hundred others.

The American media as a whole hides nothing. Why should they? What’s embarrassing or bad news for one group is excellent news or propaganda for another group.

I don't think the US government needs to do anything to dumb down these people.
Absolutely true. They want ignorant, low information voters.
Yes. In a way. Not sure it’s actual cohesive strategy, but our society seems to reward conformity and chattel occupations.
The American dream. To be locked away and still think you are free.
