Do true Villain exists?

I did a few Role Plays in the past. I tried a few times to find someone who would take the role of a "Villain" and be genuinely evil in the way of finding someone who is basically empty-minded and will obey their every will, or she will lose her memory, and they can do whatever they wish

Almost anyone I ever asked answered kindly, "I will try to help her find her home," "I will offer her a safe place to sleep," and so on... so I do have to ask, do villains exist? Or is that something that entirely remains out of our realm?

I know this is kind of random and out of my normal sort of questions but it I something I am interested to know what people think

If you're talking about just pure evil for the sake of being evil, moustache-twirling quintessential bad guy, not really, and I'll explain why:

When you look at history's villains such as but not limited to Mao, Stalin, and Hitler, all of them were convinced that whatever they were doing was justified for the greater good of their nation. That hasn't changed; a warped or narrow sense of good intentions is still used to justify unspeakable actions today, and all throughout history.

When you look at people who just like to create chaos or are just overtly anti-humanists like George Soros, Yuval Harari, hardcore abortionists pretending to be satanists, some anarcho-terrorists, or people most similar to a comic book villain, these are all people who do what they do because they believe morality is fake and therefore any action (that they take themselves) is justified, or rather, doesn't need to be justified because the (financial or physical) ability to do something is all they need.

Now regarding minions who follow them, this is way less complicated than you might think: just look at virtually any country in the world and how most people just eat up whatever they're told, either because it's convenient or not something they want to think about, and so they just follow the trends/crowd. This has happened in every major war, ever. It happened during COVID. The entire "Summer of Love" was millions of useful idiots buying into lies that served someone else's gains. It happens during election cycles. It happens whenever some trendy new product or fashion statement arrives. Remember that cults exist. The list can go on almost indefinitely.
