First of all what is "a while"? If a while is 2 weeks then that's really not a lot of time. If a while is 2 years and he stops talking to you I can understand. But if someone stops talking to you then, you stop contacting them too. He might of got involved with someone else so you have to look at that as an issue.
If you're just talking and that's it...he moved on to someone else that's most like doing more. 5 months isn't really that long.
I think that it starts off with a decision for the guy to say, "I am going to wait for her to come to me," and than that day never happens so you think he got over you fast, but it's not true.
