For a better peace of mind I’ve sworn off listening to political podcasts nor engaging/posting about political posts. At least for a week. It feels like a counter productive waste of time anyway.
Seriously whoever has changed someone else’s mind (online) on a political debate? Seriously who has ever changed their decision on who they are going to vote for just because someone argued with them on an internet post? It’s more about ventilating anger yet it just brings more anger.
But at the same time I’ve seen radical politics corrode and damage my home state and personal life. My real earnings are way behind inflation. Crime is skyrocketing in my hometown. People are becoming increasing rude and distrustful. Taxes are going up and up.
I’m being forced at my job to take DEI training and some of the crap they are pushing (gender is “socially” created) I do NOT agree with at all. We are also being pushed to put preferred pronouns in our email signatures. Not mandatory yet. However I wonder if there will come a day I will get singled out for not using “preferred” pronouns.
I just want to go about my life, work hard, earn a living, enjoy recreational activities and just interact as normal. But I get really pissed off when outside crap is being forced on me.

I am probably mostly in agreement with you, Mr. blue anon, as I am just seriously washed out by the political conflict that exists in the United States. Fortunately I only live in the US part of the year.
What I would suggest to fellow Americans is that all of us try to re-establish areas of common ground, so that the left (me) and the right at least begin to share a similar perspective. To that end I would invite anyone who really believes in the rule of law to listen to the oral arguments of the Supreme Court RE presidential immunity and the pending federal court case concerning Mr. Trump's alleged conspiracy against the United States. I just listened to it live, and it was fascinating!
I was never political until I had crap forced on me that negatively impacted my own life.
