God judges us by our thoughts and actions, do you agree that our thoughts should be judged?

I sure as shit hope not because I have ADHD and it makes me think up some really weird and scary shit. Thing is they're just compulsive thoughts I have no intention on following through on. Sometimes I just get thoughts or images of hurting or killing people, but I shove them out of my head as best I can because I absolutely hate violence. Like to the point the last time I got in a fight he punched me 3 times before I swung back.
They're just thoughts and images I can't control that just pop into my head. It's incredibly stressful and tiring imagine what it would be like to see a beheading video play in your mind 5-10 times a day. It gets fucking stressful and tiring and it makes me feel like a bad person even though I've never hurt anyone or tried to actively inflict harm on others because of these thoughts. lately I've started feeling like it's almost some kind of original sin or something.
The only time I've ever gotten urges to actually hurt someone was when they were attacking me or someone I care about. Most to the time the urges to hurt someone are urges I take out on myself. I beat myself slam my fists into hard things to hurt and bruise them etc.
I'm not a cutter like my sister was but I'm definitely engaging in self-harm but strangely part of me is proud of it because it also conforms to me again that I don't want to hurt others. Honestly, I'd rather die myself than hurt someone who doesn't deserve it but these thoughts never go away. If inflicting pain on myself keeps me from inflicting, it on others that's fine with me.
So, yea I really hope the Gods cares more about our actions than our thoughts.
@Theodish_Warrior I won't back down from a fight and never have but I always exhaust all other options before I resort to violence. I'll fight I'll even get in fights I know I'll lose on principle because I'd rather stand up for my principles and get my ass beat than be a bitch with no virtues. The last fight I got in that I mentioned above was because the POS was hitting a woman half his size because he didn't like that her friend was gay. I tried to talk him down and get him to go away three times but he punched me all of them. On the third I charged him but another guy grabbed me from behind and held me back and the two of us were separated. The girl got left alone the cops showed up and scared the shit out of him then he left rather than go to jail. The girl actually thanked me for intervening and bought me a shot for it and her friend bought me one too though I think he might have been hitting on me lol. Wrong tree I'm afraid I'm straight although I made a pass at the girl when the whole thing was over, but she already had a boyfriend too bad she was cute. XD
At the end of the day, I don't want to go to jail or worse prison. I've had run ins with the law before both good and bad and I'm not in a hurry to spend more time in a jail cell than the weeks I already did. I will not use violence unless it's in defense of myself or someone else and it will always be a last resort. Beating up every guy who challenges you doesn't make you a man it makes you insecure and if the only way you can win an argument or prove a point is to beat someone you've already lost. I'm not saying violence is never acceptable I'm saying people are too comfortable with what they deem "Acceptable" Besides that bitch punched me three times in the same eye and it didn't even bruise. It was like being hit by a third grader throwing a tantrum.
@Theodish_Warrior all that means is you've become a worse person. Violence should always be the last resort. Just because it's my last resort doesn't mean I won't use it it means I have self-control and prefer to avoid violence all together. If violence is the "Best way" Or the only way you can enforce your will you're not tough you're an insecure coward.
@Theodish_Warrior Pacifism isn't weakness it takes far more strength than violence and if you can't see that I pity you because that's an angry and awful way to live.
@Theodish_Warrior You don't have to beat someone to stand up to them. That can become part of the equation, and I will if I have to but jumping straight to violence makes you a bully and a coward because you lower yourself to their level. Your interpretation of honor and how it was viewed back then is also very skewed and it's far more complicated than you're saying it is.
Weaklings choose force when their minds can't win so the fact violence is your first resort to win in a fight tells me your stupid insecure and need to beat people to prove your superiority in these situations. Being the bigger person is a lot harder than throwing a punch. I took me a long time to realize that but I'm glad I did. Yes, in the old times fighting over honor was a thing but there is a context to it you've completely left out and that's the fact that most of the time it was solved with words not violence even then. Violence was just more socially acceptable back than then it is now. That's the only difference. Most squabbles including those of honor were settled in courts or tribal trails with fines or some kind of compensation just like today. Assault was still a crime then too the context was just different. They didn't care about bar brawls all that much but that doesn't mean they just let people beat each other all the time. People ended up in the pillories that way. You're grossly oversimplifying this because you don't like what I say since it challenges your worldview.
Of course, we do this in the courts too.
There’s a huge difference between murder and manslaughter because of “intent”. Police detectives look for motive and prosecutors look for mens rea. These are all essentially thought processes.
Similarly, feeling temptation and resisting it is the mark of discipline. That’s widely seen as good. If you simply didn’t realize the temptation, then you get no credit for resisting it.
Everything we do or don’t do starts in our brain, even the unconscious. It’s an important part of who and what we are. Some might argue that it’s everything.
I think that was a mistranslation people took too literally (assuming the thought thing actually comes up in the bible I don't know) and it was supposed to be “intentions” rather than thoughts. The intentions behind your actions can change whether they were good or bad ultimately.
Well I think whatever you think is already in your heart. Like if you think someone should be killed for doing something evil to another person, it's already in your heart and you will probably be judged for that. But you're probably judged harsher for acting on your thoughts.
You're welcome.
"The only thing I must point out is He sees all sin as equal. To Him lying is as severe as murder. Thanks for your answer."
I would have to say that I don't believe he sees all sin as equal.. He sees as sin as sin.. And all sin is severe, but not as sin is equal.. Just like not all crime is equal..

nobody judges our thoughts but ourselfes cause nobody knows our thoughts but ourselfes unless we articulate them. that entire thing about "god knowing your thoughts" is to make you obedient and not question what the church is telling you cause once you unerstand that you're free and nobody has power about you, you're not gonna give the church more money. they hate that. that's why they lie to you about heaven and hell and "god watching your thoughts" so that you keep deluding yourself out of fear to end up in hell. it's some orwellian bullshit people are still falling for today, cause it really is that effective. in my opinion this psychological warfare against the population should be illegal... but the church is too powerfull still. not likely that it's gonna be forbidden to tell these sorts of lies to manipulate people.
No in the middle ages, it used to be actual physical warfare xD today only the psychological warfare is left for them cause government became mostly secular.
Make the game harder to make punishment easier. Stuck in traffic and imagined driving off a bridge? Congrats, minus 100 points. At 3 am, when you barely human, you imagine killing your noisy neighbor? Have fun, this is your ticket to hell. God’s only wish is to watch us stumble like mice in a maze, nothing more.
Which God would that be. Humans have created thousands of fake Gods. No magic invisible sky fairies are judging anyone or anything. We're on our own. The only ones judging us are other humans. If you need a fake God with the promise of Heaven and the threat of Hell to stop you from behaving like an animal, then you are a weakling lacking in any real morality and ethics. The fact that religious zealots can't see that just reinforces that fact that their religions are complete bullshit.
Are we talking about a God that loves everyone unconditionally? That's the only type of God I would worship! I would assume since he made us, imperfections and all, he would love us without judgement.
who are we to agree or disagree with how he judges us
Not by any human! If everyones fantasies came to light, it cause only chaos and bad things for all! If out of anger you wished someone dead, you a killer, even if the killing happened in your mind only.!
Ww are our thoughts they come from the inside the inside of us is our Spiritual being our spiritual self
There is no God, but if there were, it would make sense to judge people on whether they acted on their worst thoughts.
Wevl are judged by our actions and not thoughts I guess , because thoughts keep changing good or bad but actions leave impact.
Our actions bound us to karma
guess I'm going to hell... alright...
I mean he's God.. He knows best.. Plus, humans constantly have the mantra that it's better to walk the walk than talk the talk..
It shows a lot to have a bad thought but not to act on it. Restraint is strength
harris 2024!
The biblical god is the exclusive creator of ALL evil as per Isaiah 45:7. He shouldn't be judging anyone. We should be judging him.
God has given us free will. It is our actions that should be judged. We are judged by the choices we make.
More important to focus on actions. I can think whatever I want but then I’m not in the danger zone as much as many people I know are. I can bet their thoughts a lot more repulsive
Actions are what defines us, not our thoughts.
You mean "intent and actions" - not "thoughts"
Your opening statement is nonsensical... and applying imperatives to the inevitable is pointless.
i. e. Stupid question.
I am no psychologist but I am pretty sure that intrusive thoughts are not an indication of desire to act upon them but is a refection of your fear of it.
I think I see the flaw in your premise; God doesn't exist.
Hell is full of good means while Heaven is full. of good acts.
Why you do something isn't nearly as important as what you did.
An imaginary magical all-powerful big daddy in the sky doesn't judge anything
Yes and G0d can discern a stray/impulsive thought from a willful one.
They should.. but far less then our actions. Our thoughts are primal and of the devil. Our actions are practiced and for the lord.
I do not. We are sinful creatures and thoughts can pop into our heads at a moments notice. I think what we do with the thought is what matters most.
Thoughts derive action and personality.. so does god want free willed humans or vegetables?
Yes, God is also Love 💕
As it is written:
MATT 12: 36 (NRSV)
God murders children. And hates women.
@Interester what a joke! God hates pretty much anything and everyone. He kills people for fun. He once sent two bears to massacre some children for making fun of a man for being bald. He thinks of women as men's property. He killed all those Egyptian kids they did nothing. He has his "only so " sent to earth to be brutally tortured and murdered to appease himself for something that all his fault anyway. He's full of hate.
What's in your heart. That's who you are.
Yes always
