If a girl invites you to her game, how do you know if she's being friendly or interested?

At my school, I hang around the athlete crowd. It makes sense I gravitate towards them, since I'm athletic myself and enjoy playing sports. Anyway, sometimes I'm talking to a girl I'm attracted to, and she says "You should come to our game!" and gives you info on when and where. So being the person that I am, many times I go to support them, and the girl who invited me. But I never know if she's just trying to get people to come or is interested and wants me there to support her.

A couple times, I've attended games, cheered the girl and the team on, and then met her afterward, and she acts shocked when I ask her out down the line. Another time, the girl was weirded out that I came, and I was confused because she invited me. So how do I know if she's just being friendly or is legitimately interested?

It is hard to tell but from the couple of girls you described sounds like they wanted you to just come support the team. I Will say if a girl likes you she will give you more signs, than just inviting you to her game. She will flirt with you other times at school or where ever. Have you hangout with this girl any other time? Do you know her well or is she just like someone in the group who you know just because she's hangs with the group?

I just started talking to her, and we had a good conversation. I flirted with her a bit and she responded well. Then we started talking about her sport and she was like "you should come!"

I'm an athlete that hangs out with them, I don't have time for the official track team but I'm on the club team.

Well, you could always get a group of your friends and her and go hangout somewhere, so that she can get to know you more & she can get to know you. It will be in a friendly setting and you will be with a group so it won't be awkward. :)
