What is your opinion on the new airline rules banning all animals for emotional support to get on board,?

Agree or disagree? I may agree on part cause also this is also animal cruelty, carrying an animal and the poor specie enduring a long flight specially when they need to fly on cargo. These animals need to be constantly checked and I dont know if the pilot or the crew allow the pet owner to go inside cargo compartment to check the animal to see how is he/she doing. Poor animal inside the cage, taht is also not good for the animal. Im sure some passengers lie and they say they do need the animal for emotional support just to get them on board when it is not really true. I mean if it is a service animal it is fine to fly with the owner, but for emotional support a rabbit, a lizard, a bird, etc, Common!!!

People have tried to take a wide variety of animals on airplanes, including birds, rabbits, monkeys, cats and miniature horses. Remember that even if you love your pet so so so much and take care of that pet. People have to to stop humanizing animals. Animals are animals plain and simple. Animals are not human beings.!!

I really don't think they belong on planes. I think if someone wants to call their dog and emotional support pet, then fine. I just don't think that entitles them to do anything the owner wants.

I really don't like seeing them in restaurants. Sometimes people don't see them and they come close to stepping on them. And many of them are not well trained. I've seen emotional support dogs almost get in fights in restaurants. It's like, come on, I don't want to see all that when I go out to eat.

Emotional support animals has always been ripe for fraud. An assistance animal (ex: seeing eye dog) is fine to have onboard a plane, but not and animal whose sole role is to relax the person. I'll probably be shot down for this opinion by various disability groups, but you have to draw the line somewhere, and I support what airlines have done... they tried to allow and manage support animals, and too many people made it impossible for them to do that.

I’ve trained various types of legitimate and federally protected working dogs since the 90’s. I’m all for supporting the airlines. They are tired of dealing with claimed “Emotional Support” animals who have zero training, and I don’t blame them. It’s bad enough with people faking their obnoxious pets as full Service Dog’s. At least there they can press charges.

Flying is not a human right and flight companies are not there to be convenient for every single passenger. They decide how they run their business, and if it does not suit the individual who wants to bring pets then they need to find another way to transport themself, or stay at home.

I get that our world has become softer than ever before but emotional support animals has got to be lowest point we hit.

Honestly if you need some animal in order to cope with the world maybe you shouldn't be traveling to begin with, traveling is not for wear hearted it takes a bit of resilience to handle it's aspects

This is a very BAD idea, as emotional support animals are necessary for many people. That being said, proper care and housing of the animal when flying should be mandatory, and it should be noted that some animals simply do not belong on planes for their own good.
