Im half Jewish, that just means we get them all, granted there are a LOT of holy days in Judaism so we narrowed it down to Easter, Passover Christmas, and Chanukah (Hanukah) and obviously Thanksgiving!
I am agnostic but I was raised as a Christian and I have good memories about Easter from my childhood.
I do the traditional thing, I don’t go to church like before. So, I don’t celebrate it religiously but I do the fun stuff, like cracking red eggs, eating Easter cake and we also visit the grave of our passed ones or drink wine made by our late grandpa to celebrate life after death.
Now that I don’t believe in religious part of Easter anymore, these traditions are still fun for me to do with my extended family, something like a family bond.
In my country, people are Orthodox Christians and they celebrate Easter next week.
I do. It is primarily religious, but my family also does the commercial and cultural things too. Now that I have a son and a nephew, Easter egg and Easter basket hunts will be a thing again. We always did stock up on candy and stuff.
It is firstly though a day of prayer and rejoicing for us.
For those who don't know, Easter always falls on the Sunday on or just after the first full moon of Spring, which can be as early as March 22nd, or as late as April 25th. That's why Easter jumps around the calendar every year. Easter and its corresponding holidays (Shrove Tuesday, Ash Wednesday, Palm Sunday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, Holy Saturday) are the last major holidays that Western Christian civilization observe that are lunar-based.
Voted C. I'm not religious so celebrating the religious part makes no sense to me. But if someone wants to celebrate the religious part only or both I think it's fine.
I'm not religious and I don't buy in to commercialism either, although I'll buy ny friends kids an egg each. I am having some friends over this afternoon for a special Easter dinner, I see it as time to spend with friends.
I use to when I was younger and sometimes went to church with some friends and did the Easter bunny and basket thing but now it mostly a holiday work day for me.
Christianity isn’t a religion. Allow me to explain the difference. Christianity is… well, Christianity. A religion is the equivalent of a cheap knockoff product made from China which is some bullshit spiritual beliefs revolving around a golden cow or reversed femboy with a snake hat. There are objective facts proving the existence of God, however not for the right reasons.
