Why do guys stare at me but never approach me?

Question

What are some reasons they do this? I don't think I imagine this, but of course I never can be sure and I know I should try to approach them (but that is not the question).

You know what...the same thing happens to me...I don't know why exactly...but I have asked similar questions myself...and some people told me that some guys need a sort of "green light" to know that they have a good chance of not being rejected...ie...really good eye contact...

And another, as others said...they may be intimidated by you (which may not be a bad thing...because it will let you weed out the "weaker" men)

I have a hard time understanding men too...and yeah...as you said...you know that you can go ahead an approach them...but I thought most men like to be the ones to do so? (I've approached many men, and they always act really awkward...so I stopped doing it)

Every girl gets stared at way more than they get approached.  Approaching a girl is scary and takes some serious courage.  I can't even imagine how scary approaching a guy would be.

they stare because you look good, but if they're not approaching there's a million reasons that could explain why. Still, if you're not flirting with them, that could be a big factor. A girl can't just stand there and wait for someone to approach. She's gotta at least work it a bit, and even if you do and nobody makes a move, and you're getting tired of waiting, then go over an make your own moves. The worst that can happen is they'd say no. No big deal. You'll recover, and it'll soon enough be like it never happened.

We need signs to know it's okay to approach. Smile, eye contact, body language, etc...this is important. There's also the part where some are too shy to approach, some may think you're out of their league, too much competition, too intimidating, etc...

Guys will stare at you because you are pretty and attractive... They will not approach you because it takes a lot of courage and confidence to approach a girl who is unknown to them and spark up a conversation. It's as simple as that really! lol

I do this sometimes just to try catch a girl's eye. I mean you are extremely good looking, so my guess is, they're liking you from afar but are too shy to make a move since you're pretty intimidating imo lol.

They stare at you because you're attractive. They never approach because they assume you're already taken or that you are out of their league. Either way, they don't want to be needlessly rejected.
