What should I do about my boyfriend ditching me on our anniversary?

Hello all,

I'm currently in a very loving long distance relationship. Today was our 6 month anniversary (which had been long anticipated by both my boyfriend and I). However, my boyfriend decided to spend the day with his friend instead of me. It would have been nice to have Skyped or had some kind of call session for the occasion... He told me he was going to hang out with his friend for a "little bit" but it's going on 5 hours that's he's been gone now. What should I do? I feel like if I confront him about it, it'll erupt into another argument. We've fought in the past about how he spends so much time with his friends and I really don't want to bring it up if possible. What would you do in this situation?

If he puts his friends over you a lot, do you really want to be with him? My last ex always put his friends over me and it finally got to the point where I wasn't going to stand for it anymore and I confronted him about it. We tried to make things work, but eventually we broke up (obviously).

I would confront him about it. Since you two are dating it shouldn't be a problem to tell him how you feel. I always told my ex how I felt and didn't hold back on him. I didn't want to be in a relationship where I couldn't be honest and confide in my boyfriend. You shouldn't settle for one like that either.

If you have to be afraid of something like this erupting into a fight, then you've got a lot more problems ahead of you as your relationship goes on.

If I was a guy, I wouldn't see a point celebrating monthly anniversaries (it's not really an achievement). Yearly yes, but every year is even too much. I would celebrate every 5 years to be honest.

He is not really ditching you. Remember the both of you are in long distance relationship. He is going about he's day. Some girls see the importance in those occasions. Most guys don't.

The thing is he had been going on and on about it being "us being together for half a year" and it got me really excited too because I was expecting to do something with him but it kind of bummed me out that when the day actually came he flaked. I agree about the monthly thing.

I'm sure he was just acknowledging it. I'm not sure if he meant to do something in celebration to it? You may of misinterpreted

well i know for us girls monthsary and anniversary are important for some men they tend to forget it or its not a big deal for them. well let him give him the time for his friends men love that. they want to have time for their friends give it to him. and its 6monthsary well forgive him to that. for me its not a big deal, during my past relationship sometimes my ex boyfriend went to spend 2 days with his friends and its are 9monthsary im sad but i didn't get upset i just understand him.
